Pros: "Delayed flight from Shanghai due to air traffic issues, so I had a 10 minute window to make my connection in Singapore. Ground staff was waiting for me with a small car after I disembarked to drive me to the gate. And I somehow made my connection. Excellent service. Obviously my checked bag didn't make it, but I was told in advance and was kept updated before boarding and immediate after I disembarked at my final destination. When I went to the baggage service counter, they were already ready for me, had filled out my paperwork, and just needed an address to confirm the delivery of my suitcase. I'm super impressed to this attention to detail."

The touchscreen was also very simple and did t require a great deal of force to press a button...the steamed towel given before take off was extremely relaxing and set a high standard of expectations during this flight. Almost all of the those expectations were met. The toilets were extremely clean and the service of toothbrushes was the icing on the cake. For my meal I ordered Indian fish curry which could have been a little more spicy (I am Indian so I eat foods with many spices)."

Overall a great experience, but would have liked it to be a 12hr experience instead of 5."

Pros: "SGN-SIN is normally less than two hours. Business class very comfortable. I did not use the entertainment system -- it had trouble starting, by the way. Crew very attentive to passengers' needs."

She kindly moved me to the exit seat and made sure I was sitting in aisle seats for the rest of my three flights. All until boarding the process was quick and breezy. Cons: "At Sydney airport the line for bag drop was longer than regular check in for economy. The ground staff waited till an hour before boarding to speed things up despite numerous passengers alerting them to this. The bag drop took 1 hour even though I had checked in online. The food was sub par because I had chosen a no seafood meal. Lamb chops without sauce as well as a very poor steak, again without any sauces."

But they had the same angular seats like Malaysian Airlines. There was no point in paying the extra money."

After verifying our information, she proceeded to tell us we had no reserved seats for our flight. When I told her we had seat numbers (thus reserved seats) when I checked their website the night before, she had the audacity to imply that we were lying about these mediocre seats! After speaking to the supervisor, she then proceeded to tell us that we should be thankful for the seats she was able to give us, WHICH WERE THE EXACT SAME SEATS THAT WERE LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE THE DAY BEFORE. Philippine Airlines need to better train their check-in personnel proper customer service to prevent passengers from having such unpleasant experiences with their staff. Our check-in process would have gone smoothly had she not replied in such a snarky manner to us and implied that we owe her for the seats we had in the first place."

Pros: "This was my first time flying with PAL. I had read the reviews mostly good, some not so good but I decided to do it because I was going to meet my fiancee. Flew from LA to Manila and back. The flights took off late (which I later found out is called Filipino time LOL). The crew was AWESOME, the only problem was on the return flight I had some trouble getting a stewardess but to be fair EVERYBODY was hitting the bells to get service. The food was good and I liked the choices. I would DEFINITELY fly PAL again!!!!!"

Cons: "It was several hours delayed, they finally boarded us, then told us they were closing the airport. They kept us on the place for another 2.5 hours while they were trying to figure out what to do. By time they let us off the plane it was 3:30 AM. Took another 2.5 hours to get our baggage back and another 1.5 hours to get the flight refunded. I travel weekly, and this has been the worst airline experience I have had so far."

Then, after we boarded d at around 1AM, we were advised that the runways were due to close at 1:30 AM and negotiations were underway to extend runway operations so we could take off. We waited on the plane only to later learn that the flight was cancelled and we had to deplane! After more waiting at the gate in the terminal we were to hotels. We went to bed at around 4:45 AM, only to get a wake up call at 7 AM whilst we were not leaving the hotel until 11:00 AM for a 1:30 PM departure! Horrible! We ended up leaving even later, at around 2:30 PM. Throughout, communication from the company was abysmal. Never again Philippine Airlines for me !"

This was my worst flying experience ever and I do 4 international trips a year. Save time and money, fly another airline even if it means a connecting flight, you will still get there quicker. Pathetic."

Flight estimated departure is at 1720HRS, but the flight only took off 1750HRS."

This is a win-win situation all 'round. From being re-booked to an earlier flight by their impressive ground staff to excellent in-flight service and airmanship during the ride, the experience was truly one of the nicest airline experiences in recent memory. With improvements at MNL coupled with this fine experience, I now have another option to choose from when traveling by air both within SEA and beyond. Kudos to all."

By the time we arrived in Singapore, it is almost 0340. Collected the luggages, clear custom and arrived home is almost 0500. There was absolutely no refreshment provided in between, and have to switch between gates which are far apart."

Cons: "Luggage check-in weighs luggage 22 kilos more than its actual weight and I was asked to pay almost RM650 ~ ($170), when I was asked to recheck they had to pull my luggage back and that took almost 40 minutes to later know that they made a huge mistake! 20 minutes to the boarding time I got confirmation that my luggage weights are correct and given a boarding pass to gate P11. walked to gate P11 and saw no one there, and there were no signs of what was happening, I checked Kayak app then I noticed that they changed the gate to L10 which is a totally different building ( 16 minutes before gate closure ), I had to run the whole airport to go to gate L10. not to mention that flight was delayed by a good 1 hour!"

I checked in with plenty of time and when I arrived in Singapore I was advised that not only could they not call to Panang to inquire about my bag -it had to be arranged through email but also bags aren’t destination scanned! I work for United airlines and it seems primitive not to know where a bag is in today’s day and age. The following day, knowing that I was departing back to the United States miraculously my bag showed up at the airport the same time as my minimum required check in time."

Cons: "AirAsia sucks balls. Or at least, it was fine leaving Singapore, but returning from a crappy small town airport to it was a fraudulent nightmare. We were told to check in online and add baggage at least two days before flying to avoid excessive baggage fees. So we paid them the first time, no problem. But AirAsias website is clearly coded by bricks with fingers. Because 6,5,4, and 3 days prior, it says such service is unavailable. Okay, we’ll do it at the airport then, it’ll be nice and easy just like at Changi. Only at this crappy subpar excuse for an airport, they live by no rules and want to charge $300USD - more than double what was charged at Changi - for two 20kg bags. 20kg, which my boarding pass and my booking both say we are entitled to, is suddenly 5kg in excess, so they want to screw your American wallet hard, long, and good because even if you had a good time, chances are you will never pass through the half baked gas station that is Langkawi again. Oh yeah and don’t bother paying for the WiFi - they get you good there too - 10mb which is basically a couple jpegs but you won’t get squat anyway. Literally nothing, and then suddenly your puny 10mb has disappeared, along with your money and what’s left of AirAsias credibility."

Worst Plaza Premium Lounge experience!"

I even push my mom in manila airport coz they said they dont have enough staff. My mom had a stroke and she walked all the way in kuala lumpur. What a lousy airline you have"

Plane was not cleaned and emptied of rubbish before we were boarded. Most shocking of all, the plane was being refueled while passengers were boarding. All in all, pretty appalling. I take budget flights 2-3 times a year and this is the worst experience I've had with budget carriers (including the European budget carriers with dirt cheap fares and sometimes non-existence customer service)."

Wide range of food and beverages available despite being a short 1.5 hour flight. Aircrafts were clean and well maintained. Both flights landed either on time or early despite weather issues."

I tried to use the app to check in and pay for a bag, it didn't allow me and I had to pay the much more expensive fee at the airport to check the bag. App in general didn't work well at all, it never showed the return leg journey so I couldn't make any amendments to the booking. Check in process took ages in Langkawi, only two desks open for all of AK's flights. None of the self service kiosks were working despite being advertised as functioning."

Everyone was telling the staff that we were all at risk of missing our flight (as we still needed to clear security and immigration), however nothing changed. The girls behind the desk seemed genuinely flustered and sorry about the situation, but unfortunately no one else came to support. We made our flight by the skin of our teeth, but it seems that people in line behind us weren't so lucky."

Excessive blow by of bleed air into cabin at start up (heavy jet fuel odor inside). Somewhat sketchy landing...but not too bad considering heavy crosswind combined with good old fashioned seat of the pants flying (no computer aided landing assists here). All in all a decent flight for around these parts I guess...I mean at least the thing wasn't brush painted with house paint...been there before."
