First time on Starlux. I was impressed. Very eager to assist flight crew
Premium Economy on Starlux- a worthwhile way to cross the Pacific. This is a great premium economy experience. The seats are comfortable, wide and provide decent foot rests. The seatback TV is large, high resolution and plenty of content. Bluetooth connection for your headset and control from your phone is available. Food was decent and in line with the cabin class. The seat could be improved by providing more lower leg support especially for taller guests (6ft myself). Cabin crew will be moving up and down the aisle a lot since the galley is in front.
Screen size was nice. No vent when hot, food was not good
Wish plane type had more restrooms… Care and consideration from stewards and stewardesses was so great
Pros: "The crew was attentive and service was excellent."
Cons: "At check-in counter in MNL, the JAL agent mistakenly told me that I don't need to claim my bag and re-check at DFW before heading to final destination MEM. Food wasn't as good as previous JAL flights earlier this year and last year. That said, it's still better than other airlines."
Pros: "JAL flights to LAX are always great. Good food too."
Pros: "Service was excellent"
Cons: "Cabin and all associates accessories, seats and entertainment center needed replacement. Electrical outlets didn’t work. JAL retire that plane"
Pros: "Friendly, clean. Great movie selection."
Cons: "I wasn't allowed to reserve a seat - apparently they don't allow Kayak customers to reserve seats now. I was forced into a middle seat and was uncomfortable and dehydrated the majority of the trip. Nice girl at baggage check said she'd ask a manager to move me, and to let them know at the gate, but the people at the gate said no. I felt discriminated against because I didn't book through them and/or I'm not Japanese. They historically love to put mushrooms in their food, like a fetish. This left me with one choice for the entree - some version of oyakodon - eggs and chicken. In my box there were two enormous chunks of fat/skin and another unidentifiable part of the chicken, and about the amount of edible chicken as 1 1/2 nuggets from Chick-Fil-A. There was more lotus root than chicken, so basically I had a box of rice and scrambled eggs with garnish. For the second meal, it was the Yoshinoya gyudon - a small serving of thinly sliced beef with rice. If I bought this fresh at a Yoshinoya restaurant, it would cost about $3. It's the rough equivalent of serving you a McDouble - cheap and filling and a coin toss if you get stomach pains. I lost that coin toss. Unless there is a big fare difference or I find out that their reserved seat policies are changed, I will choose ANA or another carrier. I used to enjoy JAL, but I cannot abide by idiotic decisions that seemed designed to punish people for using 3rd-party booking sites or who are not Japanese."
Cons: "The attendants were very pleasant and efficient. I will certainly prefer to fly JAL, especially if you could offer the lower rates. On the down side, it was very difficult to contact their customer service line. However their online help desk was very responsive."
Cons: "food from manila to japan was excellent, food japan to vancouver was not...could only eat half of it"
Pros: "On time Cleanliness"
Cons: "The food for people with special needs is horrible Most of the staff has poor communication in English on international flights"
Pros: "Everything!!! Excellent customer service. Will definitely use their airlines whenever possible.Very polite and always smiling and frequently checks on you if u need anything unlike other airlines."
Cons: "None whatsoever."
Pros: "Great service and terrific vegan meals served. Facilities were clean and personnel were very helpful and provided terrific service to the passengers."
Pros: "Efficient and friendly service. Second time flying them, and will continue to fly JAL."
Cons: "N/A"
Food was not great. Crew was lovely. There was no whisky on the first leg (BKK - ICN). And it took forever for my luggage to come out at LAX.
Cons: "Friendly and courteous stewardess. All it takes is a smile that makes your long trip a better experience."
Pros: "Crew was attentive."
Cons: "Was seated near some noisy distractions i.e. crying baby."
Pros: "Movie"
Cons: "if the music list is great with latest songs.. charging of phone took so long to be charged"
Pros: "Food choices was very limited to beef and fish. We had a connecting flight for international and both leg has the same food choices."
Pros: "Cleanliness and more leg room"
Cons: "Serve the coffee/tea with the breakfast/meal not after."
Pros: "crew was excellent and food was great"
Cons: "boarding disorganized, business class seats were average and screens too small"
Pros: "Everything, from boarding to departure, the service is excellent! The staff was attentive and very welcoming. Spending a few hours reminded me why I fell in love with SK in the first place."
Cons: "Food selection was ehhh. Selection and quality of food flying into SK was a lot better."
Pros: "I really loved that the airline accommodated to me being vegan. They also provided me with vegan creamer if I wanted coffee which was great. The staff was also super friendly which was a big plus because they were easily approachable."
Pros: "Would appreciate if they can provide a list of possible menus to choose for the meals. Consistencies on bagage claim info, and changes in boarding gates."
Cons: "Inconsistencies, on my way back to montreal from the philippines, i was informed that baggage would be claimed directly to final port of destination but didnt, when i arrived at toronto i had to take my bagage and drop it off again, although my next flight would be with west jet airlines, korean air was not able to communicate well with their airline partners as to bagage claim and changes in boarding gates."
Cons: "Mid night snack can be improved, it’s too small a portion."
Pros: "Friendly, helpful, attentive crew; good amount of storage in business class; very good food with an excellent variety."
Pros: "Crew was good. The food was good quality."
Cons: "Boarding took along time and then the plane was delayed, not their fault but it made the trip less enjoyable. Manila is a poor hub."
Pros: "Food was good and staff were very helpful. The boarding zone in economy class were easy , it started from the last to the front."
Cons: "Check in was a little bit confused, we arrived 5 hrs. Before our departure thinking that we can check in our luggage so we can rest in the gate area, but we had to wait 3 hrs to open the check in counter."
Pros: "My flight is at 9:50 am but I arrived around 5:30 am , as expected the line was already long and one of the crew told us the front desk will not open until 6:30. My husband reserved my ticket going back to US. I was assigned to seat on an exit, but when I went to the gate , one of a female employee keeps telling me if I'm aware I'll be seating on an exit and I said yes , I look for a vacant seat so I can relax while waiting, she went back again and asked me if the front desk desk gave me any paper about the task I have to do when seating on an exit. I read it and understand . She came back again for the third time and borrow my boarding pass and check something and asked me if I want to transfer to another seat, and I said no. I don't know what she wants me to do , but I'm so irritated because she keeps asking me the same question over and over again."
Cons: "Seats are almost impossible to sit comfortably for such a long flight. Not nearly enough legroom."
Pros: "Services to the senior citizen excellent... can't ask for more. Stewardess are all very pleasant. Thank you very much"
Pros: "Service, staff, and food were all above-average as compared to other companies with whom I've flown"
Cons: "Spacing was a little bit cramped, and side-to-side leg-room was so cramped that my neighbor fell asleep, spread his legs and suddenly had no where to escape. Made sleeping difficult/impossible."
Pros: "From start to Finish from ticketing to baggage claim we received Premier Customer Service !!!!!"
Pros: "Been flying with ANA ever since I started living in Japan, and it has always been a pleasure. No complaints whatsoever."
Cons: "No problems."
Pros: "The whole Business experience on SQ"
Cons: "During the same trip I discovered 2 different arrangements of the Business Class cabin on Singapore Airlines A350, SQ469 CMB-SIN, and SQ036 SIN-LAX. On the SQ036, I occupied seat 15 A (mono, aisle-window): I did not understand the reasoning behind this layout: Seat facing straight the front of the aircraft, but not enough space to stretch the legs, and limited height for the footrest, feet getting hurled against a ceiling very quickly, and also footrest only on one side = one foot. The deep cavity, that is probably meant to house the lie-flat disposition, is at a 45° angle with the general direction of the seat. I am 77 and not in any way a contortionist. I decided that the best course of action was to remain seated for the duration of the 14:30 hours, flight without extending my legs. Maybe the crew could have explained how the passenger is supposed to fit into that weird design, but I did not ask, afraid that the demonstration might reawaken chronic shoulder and hip pain. I would be glad to read (not test) how this configuration is supposed to convey the sense of comfort expected from a Business Class ticket. It did nothing of the kind for me."
Pros: "Crews sympathy’s"
Cons: "Disembarking On economy plus we had to wait for all business passengers to leave and there were that needed wheelchair hence took a long time"
Pros: "Overall, the staff was amazing, so as the food and cleanliness"
Cons: "The space between the seats in economic seat"
Pros: "Yes and yes"
Cons: "Not sure because I have never had a better experience."
Cons: "WiFi didn’t work on 3 of the 4 flights although all purportedly had it. Also didn’t work the majority of the time in the Business Class Lounge in Singapore. Food was mediocre both on flights and in the lounge. Movie selection could hardly have been worse."
Pros: "The crew was terrific. Always smiling and helpful."
Cons: "If you need more space economy is a tight fit. It would be better to upgrade."
Pros: "Cabin crew was excellent and the premium economy seat was very comfortable and accommodating. The choice of food from the variety menu was also delicious."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable and the staff was very attendant!"
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "(Previous PE comparisons: Turkish AL, Air NZ, SAS) Ease of check-in, on-time dep/arr, crew attention and responsiveness, seating within the range to be expected of this class."
Cons: "Plane condition: Cosmetic plastic panel below monitor and seat back pocket on Seat 31E fell off when foot rest was lowered; had previously been secured by adhesive tape. Panel removed by crew. In-flight entertainment system: Persistent intermittent loss of sound while listening to movie or TV program. Food: Tried to use "Book the Cook" feature touted by Singapore's website. Was unable to get on site for that purpose. The last try a message appeared (late September) that site was being "rebuilt." On the flight, there was no menu of choices; we were offered 3 vaguely worded choices which boiled down to beef, chicken or vegetables. Those appeared in not particularly appetizing forms and combinations--P.S., we like east and southeast Asian cooking and had just spent 3 weeks in Japan. Failure to provide information about possible delays due to WRG deplaning location at LAX: Although we are frequent fliers to and from LAX, we'd never heard of the WRG. It would have been helpful if the crew had informed us upon arrival that there could possibly be a wait on the plane as buses were used to transport us approximately 1/2 mile to TBIT. Generally: We chose Singapore because of its reputation for excellence. Belying the name of the class, both Turkish AL and Air NZ treated Premium Economy passengers as "junior" business class. Singapore treated us as coach with a roomier cabin and seating pitch."
Pros: "Friendly Staff. Very nice Meet and Greet Comfortable travel. Meals were tasty."
