Pack a hoodie and wear pants. Don't purchase anything past initial security check- youll have to empty any drink- even a sealed cola can- before getting through a secondary screening at your gate.
DavidFlew with Philippine AirlinesMNL-LAXMay 2025
Airport departure is a zoo. You have to show documents of travel just to gain entry. Confusing inside but staff very helpful in getting you lined up where you need to be. Immigration and security screening typical however when you arrive at departure gate you are not allowed to bring any drinks into the gate area and it is a long dry period until first service onboard. You can leave the gate area but must go through secondary screening again to return to the gate waiting area.

Check your all or most of your luggage if you can. Take a small light carry for your must have items with you such as snacks, book and electronics on hand accessible during the flight.

Take a tennis ball with you. It can help with the long flight - simply but under your feet and roll, to help with blood circulation whilst sitting for 18+ hours!

Bring a sweater, a mask and wear socks. Although they provided a blanket, it’s very chilly on a long flight. I caught a nasty cold from the flight and wasn’t masked up. Other than that our flight was great and comfortable.

Flight staff were very courteous and efficient. Aircraft (seats, lavatories, etc) was kept clean and replenished

I have never heard of EVA air before but I am so happy my wife and I were able to flight on their planes twice. Everything on these flights just felt better than their competitors. As someone with longer legs any bit of extra leg spaces is appreciated. The different options for food and drinks were also a plus. They were extra careful to make sure my wife's eating restrictions were taken care for. They had a before take off and landing announcements on the built in tablets for each seat and it gave out information that was very helpful. Such as what and how to declare your items in the specific country you landed in, any odd items that may be illegal to bring it (and even the reasoning why) and any other information you might need to make your post flight experience better. The only downside was there were "forced" ads on the tablet at take off for maybe 5-10 minutes but honestly, this flight was the cheapest option and had all the benefits listed above that is such an easy trade off. Im keeping an eye out for EVA air going forward.

Aircraft was late getting to the gate - probably due to weather. We left the gate one hour late and had to wait another hour since we lost our slot in the takeoff queue. Our box was very wet and was falling apart when we got to Clark. It appears that luggage was exposed to weather in TPE while waiting to be loaded. Crew, however, handled the delay well and was able to provide planned service.

seats are pitched well. you don't feel too tight.

For the price, it was better than other airlines; quality of food and service was very good.

Check in process in Manila was so slow. From the time we got in line to reaching the counter we could have arrived at Taipei even if the flight was delayed for half hour.

Movie selection was not as good as recent flights I've taken (EVA and other airlines).

Very smooth flight. Superb crew, great food and service. Slept most of the way. Excellent airline.

Great but I am not sure why I was placed in zone 4 for boarding despite being an Infinity Member??? Can you explain online. Thanks

Clean plane, friendly crew, mostly on-time departure. Negativo since there were no snacks offered. Cold drinks only was fine due to turbulence, but nothing to eat? Really?

One of the flight attendants stepped on my foot. I was on the aisle seat. A lady inside needed to get out. So Instood. Just then, a flight attentendant came wuicklybtheoughbthe aisle and stepprd on my sock covered toes. I let out a small sound. She stopped momentarily, but didn’t ask how I was just took off of the aisle. Never came back to see how I was. Fortunately, I was not really hurt other than a slight soreness in my toes. But I found that to be very negligent.

Korean air has a little bit more seating space than Asiana air.

There was a lot of partial tv shows but not enough to last the flight. The food was incredible! The crew were so helpful and patient. Lots more space than what I usually get on an international flight. Very comfortable!

Korean Air is unlike any other major airline I have flown with. The grace and respect that the staff has from check in to de-boarding is unmatched. The flight attendants this time were especially wonderful to my five little children. They helped us rearrange to more suitable seating, brought our children’s meals, and patiently waited for them in the aisles when they had to use the bathroom. We felt so welcome and comfortable. I really appreciate the meal voucher when our flight was delayed. I am grateful to have had such an stress-free experience.

Not many people, so you can lay down on two seats

It's good overall. Flight was packed. Inflight entertainment choices were lacking.

Great except for the delay in Korea. Korean Air did a great job setting up a hotel for the night. I also needed assistance with a wheelchair and they were outstanding.

The boarding process for Korean airlines is very straightforward and easy. You've never met such helpful and friendly people. The food was great and the entertainment options were excellent too. My teenage boys found programs they wanted to watch while I had fun watching a full season of the Last Man - the Blind Investigator (Japanese), which my wife enjoyed too. My only complaint was that it takes a very long time to taxi at ICN (20 minutes) and the pilot had to hold at the gate for 10 minutes after our scheduled departure time, which meant we got to Seattle 27 minutes late. Luckily I had a long enough connection to make my next flight, but just barely.

Flight delayed going to Korea. No free WiFi. Other than that everything else is were good. I would love to fly with Korea airline again

Best service I’ve ever had Flight attendants are nicely dressed and look very professional

Sat next to a woman who had her period. Blood was on her seat and on the arm rest between us. I ended up having period blood on my jacket and shoes. Very gross!

Better organization of boarding procedures. Terrible leadership guiding people to gates.

They need to improve on how the plane lands cause it was not smooth at all.

I did not like how the plane landed. It was not smooth.

Been flying with China Airline over years many times. Good experience with them, no issues.

Staff was so nice and very helpful with directions aswell!

It was our first time flying with China Airlines and had a very nice experience. The airline staff & crews both on the ground and air were very nice. Food on the plane was very good. Will recommend it to family and friends.

Not great, will likely try to fly another or maybe I should have upgraded my ticket? Needed Air…

My ticket did not indication which group I was in for boarding; the gate attended help me

Very routh cabin crew food is only 2 meals for 13 hours fry with them They should get better training how to service good super routh language and talking with customer

The only problem I had was not being able to download my boarding passes prior to arriving at the airport. Everything else was perfect.

If I had blood clots, that window seat would've killed me for certain.

The food and service was great. You have to pay a lot for in flight Internet though which is lame.

I had high expectations but met with a below average experience. I hope the Airline will take a notice and improve.

So so, crew was overly professional and lacks human touch. Equipment is very old, especially the HKG-PVG CX366 flight. That plane along with its decor must have twenty years of history, or at least I had that impression.

Worst experience I have ever had with any airline in over 25 years.

very professional and very attentive to my Special Needs as I required a Wheel Chair and assistance to board

Crew was great. But a bit understaffed. The business class seat, etc were dated. But comfortable. Some legs had entertainment system from a decade ago. Selections were rather poor. Food was mediocre at best. Actually poor for business class standards. I liked the lounge in Hong Kong. Showers were great. Food was nice.

Highly impressive. On time. Smooth and fast boarding and disembarkment. Really great service

Overall, it was ok. However, the food was very sub-par.

Well, I needed to make a change to my flight and I called the airline and they said yes no problem $700 and we can do that and I agreed to it so they canceled my tickets and went to rebook and came back after being on hold for an hour and a half and said I’m sorry, sir. There was an error. It is $2800 Now and I said never mind. I will just use those flights and she proceeded to tell me that they already canceled them because I said I was interested in doing the change. I told her yes for $700. I was fine with doing a change but not $2800 so give me my tickets back and she proceeded to tell me that she could not do that and I had to pay the $2800 to get my tickets back that I already spent $2800 on. So I had to book tickets on another airline to get home And that cost a lot of money too. I’m a little pissed off at Philippine airline right now because of what they did to me and I’m not sure I ever wanna fly with them again. I’ve flown with them plenty in the past, but this just really put a bad taste in my mouth.. Not to mention on my way there leaving Seattle going to Vancouver. I got to the airport three hours in advance and they had booked me through Alaska Airlines to do that little trip. My connecting flight would leave about six hours after I got to Vancouver BC. I stood in Alaska Airlines lying for a little over two hours and then they proceeded to tell me that they couldn’t check me in because I wasn’t there an hour in advance. I kept telling the lady at the beginning of the line that I was afraid they were not gonna let me in because it was taking so long and she said oh don’t worry about it. You’re fine you’ve got time. Well I ended up spending $600 to get to Canada that night just to make my connecting flight because Alaska air wouldn’t do anything and Filipino Air told me it was Alaska air problem but Alaska air said since you booked through Philippine air, we can’t fix it. I had about 50 minutes to make my flight, but they refused to check me in because I wasn’t there an hour in advance yet. I’ve been standing in their line for about two hours and 15 minutes.

Overall the flight was a good experience. It is different from American Airlines because they board the back of the plane first rather than the front first. Food was decent. They gave out pillows ,blankets , and face masks. I did find this airline had faster flights back home than others. Less travel and layover time.

I thought the meals and meal choices were excellent. The cabin staff was helpful and as is the norm for Pinays, extraordinarily empathetic.

Going to Dumaguette 4 times in a row I was late it's terrible

The flight to GES MNL sucks, there was no entertainment. There was no footrest. So the business class seat was not comfortable.

There was something that did not work on every fligjt. No water in business class washroom and inflight entertainment system did not work in business class.

Everything was great, except for the inflight entertainment, which wouldn't work on my Samsung Zflip. The flight was smooth despite the heavy rains exiting Tokyo. The cabin crew were very attentive and friendly. I had the pork katsudon, which was very tender and flavorful.

Food was great. Hot meals. Entertainment- not so good. They only showed one tv filipino series with only 3 episodes for a 14 hour flight.

Ground and flight crew very courteous and professional. Seats are just ok. Entertainment could be upgraded with newer movies. Food was not good at all.

My finger has been hurt by seat, but no answer from you.
