Bangkok airport needs a redesign to make it more accommodating for passengers with long layovers between flights. It needs a better selection of restaurants, stores and rest rooms near the departure gates. It also needs a shuttle or other transport system to help passengers transit the long distances between gates in different concourses.

Cons: "More often than not, Philippine Airlines has been our airline of choice because we found their rates to be fair and flights direct and easy. Despite the fact that the PAL terminal was pretty poor, and the food on board was never really decent, we remained loyal to PAL for quite a few years. On our way back to Melbourne from Manila on June 17, Saturday, Colin, Hendrix and I were awaiting boarding at gate 10 for flight PR 209. Having flown with PAL from Melbourne to Manila (as well as with another airline from Manila to Manchester and back), we understood that the usual procedure was to allow passengers with infants to board first. Due to the lack of order (there were no clear queues in sight), Colin decided to ask 3 different PAL personnel if there was, indeed, a priority queue for people travelling with infants. ALL THREE PERSONNEL ASSURED US THAT THEY WERE NOT YET BOARDING AND THAT WE WOULD BE CALLED UPON PRIOR TO THEM LETTING ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANE. 2 minutes later, a PAL personnel appears with signage that reads certain row numbers and begins to call out to ALL PASSENGERS FOR BOARDING. Colin swiftly rushes to the front (me and baby in tow) and demands an explanation as to why we were told one thing but are watching them act upon something completely different. I wish I was joking when I tell you that the personnel just stared blankly at us and then carried on checking boarding passes. No apologies, no explanation offered. As soon as we boarded, Colin turned to the first flight steward he saw and asked for a complaint form and told this could ONLY be done online, to which Colin requested we be given the email/web address upon take off. The seats assigned to us were on the right most side of the aircraft, a window and a middle seat. As Colin was placing our bags in the overhead compartment, the steward called to Colin from across the aisle (past the 3 seats in the middle of the plane) to introduce the purser, Jolly Bello. Please note this was happening while people were also trying to get past and get to their seats -and Mr. bello called out across the aisle, "I heard you have a complaint??" to which Colin, baffled, replied "yes do you want to come over here so we aren’t shouting over these people?". Colin yet again told this purser what the complaint was about and was asked (verbatim) "so would you like to make a complaint against THEM?" Would the correct protocol not be to 1. Apologise for any confusion, miscommunication or poor service, 2. Take some responsibility and acknowledge the complaint and 3. Maybe come approach us AFTER TAKE OFF and not while everyone is trying to board the plane? We are no longer choosing Philippine Airlines."

One of the taxi drivers wanted to take me for 800 pesos. But not only did I not have to deal with traffic on the street but be cause we were riding on the tarmac we saved a lot of time. Thanks to the helpful flight attendant."

Cons: "Our flight was cancelled because of weather condition while we were at the boarding gate, they didn't care about compensations or consider not risking putting the passengers under last minute pressure, at least they should've notified us ahead of time, they automatically rolled us in the next flight, however, they didn't confirm if the next flight will be cancelled or not. In order to make sure I can catch my connecting flights, I booked another flight from Legazpi to Manila on a different airline, in addition, I had to pay the hotel booking cancellation fees in Manila, since these fees can only be waved if I cancelled 24hrs in advance. Moreover when I asked for my ticket refund, they made a big deal out of it and after a ruff struggle they agreed to refund me, but whatever the refund amount was, it barely covers anything of what I had to pay for a new ticket+ 1 extra night stay in Legazpi + hotel cancellation fees in Manila, I ended up paying 400USD in total while I only got around 50USD ticket refund from them, and of course, add to that the stress and hassle I went through in doing this!"

Also if the cabin crew were attentive.. 2 male cabin crews were not as attentive to their passengers, but I want to thank the flight supervisor who was very attentive to our needs."
Pros: "I have seen some bad reviews abt airaisa and for sure i was afraid when i booked with them but i think each experience is different. I use airaisa to go to 2 city and 3 country and i have zero negatie comment . It was a nice experience with them . Always on time . Clean plane ."
Cons: "The connecting flight in between was not very clear during search. It was only Manila to Cebu but there was a connecting flight to Taiwan. I would have forfeited my flight if I had not brought my passport along. So the route was MANILA to TAIWAN to Cebu WHY DO YOU HAVE TO MAKE SUCH A STUPID ROUTE??? AND UNLIKE OTHER TRAVEL SITES, YOURS DO NOT EMPHASIZE CONNECTING FLIGHTS VERY CLEARLY!!! Also, there was no way to cancel it. I was really disappointed in your site!"
Cons: "I booked through kayak which redirected to kiwi. On the boarding pass it gave the wrong terminal (domestuc terminal, when i was flying internationally) then to find out the terminal got updated online. In addition, the flught was delayed and gates were changed and i found out AFTER i already boarded the plane. Terrible."

This could have been improved, as I didnt feel comfortable asking, there were 2 of us, not just one so we went hungry"

When i mentioned it to other travel agents they all said the same thing, Air Asia is always delayed, i was told to use other airlines. Indeed, while awaiting my flight to Manilla I saw 2 Philippines Air flights depart on time. One of my fellow travellers had given themselves7 hours between flights and missed their flight to Dubai because of the delay."

Would be better to have us board first or last. No free peanuts or water, I guess something only American companies do. No entertainment."

Cons: "Five hours sitting in the terminal in Kalibo!! No weather issues!! Baggage fees at ticket counter. Considering the fare we paid this is not a big deal. But the delays?? Leaving Manila, we sat on the plane at the gate for over 90 minutes!! Waiting for clearance to take off because of heavy air traffic in Kalibo?? They have five gates there!! Not a whole lot of sympathy doled out by theses folks either. A piece of chicken and ball of rice at the gate in Kalibo hardly compensates for the excessive inconvenience we endured on both legs of our journey. Might consider directing my business elsewhere on future travel endeavors."

Cons: "I've taken AirAsia twice on my travels in the Philippines, one of the times, the flight was very very delayed.The other, they changed the flight time 2 hours AHEAD of schedule and made that flight the last flight out for a day. Called the customer service hotline and they have terrible customer service, did not really come up with any solutions and I was placed on hold numerous times for a very long time. I ended up having to wait until the next day to get on a flight, which made me lose a day at my other destination."

Cons: "4+ hour delays with no explanation, NO FOOD THAT YOU DON'T PURCHASE, and the always present exorbitant baggage fees. You get NO checked bag for your standard fare. You must pay to check ANY bag, and that payment doesn't cover much weight. Anything overweight is WAY too expensive. They also want to weigh your carry-on, to make sure you're not using a carry-on bag to beat their crappy baggage fees."
Pros: "I got a call a few weeks ahead to say my flight time had been changed to a half hour ahead of schedule. That was nice for a heads up."
Cons: "However, it's a good thing we arrived at the airport 4 hours in advance (had nothing else to do...) because our flight was actually 2 hours ahead of schedule. Also, we sat on the tarmac for an hour. This was to be expected though, because it's manila."
