|Top route||Auckland Intl to Nadi|
I was cramped, the staff never came around with water and always seemed grumpy. Not your typical Fijian hospitality at all. The plane was tiny and after already flying for 11hrs to then be cramped and uncomfortable. Dehydrated and seated in what felt like an unpadded seat for another 3.5hr flight, was terrible.
This leg of my journey to brisbane was fine but I’d love to review the service in the Nadi to BNE LEG as that was terrible
You must allow extra time to get through check-in to drop of bags and COVID verification. There is no kiosk or online check-in because of the extra verification. This can be nerve-racking when transferring from domestic to international from a different carrier.
Flight would have been more comfortable but it was very cold in the plane. Also food was average but airline food isn’t usually very good.
Need to up great head phones
Seat comfort , crew service could be better
Seat comfort , crew service need to improve
Everything was pretty good except the food could've been better.
better headsets with noise cancelling option.
More variety in movie choices
The crew was great. We got food and I wasn't expecting that and it was OK. The flight was pretty smooth.
The flight was moved up 30 minutes and 1. I was never told and 2. It meant I had to get through customs and get my bag in 30 mins. I managed to get there 45 mins before the flight but they couldn’t ticket me and said the flight was completely booked. I then had to spend an extra 9 hours in the airport to take a later flight. For partner airlines, this should NEVER happen.
check-in at sydney was a bit disorganized. one well-dressed woman appeared to be in charge, staring at others who were not ready and checking in passengers. one person at business class check-in, was sarcastic and only mentioned the gate assignment, no bother to mention the lounge access etc... the crew on board was stellar. so polite, helpful and respectful. the meals were great, endless beverages, and the a350 is spectacular with the seat/bed, amenity kit, television, bedding, headphones. first time flying fiji airways- honolulu- fiji-sydney, and sydney-fiji-los angeles, all in business class. their fares are much more affordable than other carriers. hopefully, one day, they will use a widebody aircraft from honolulu- fiji, since it is a nearly 7-hour flight and the 737-max 8, although comfortable, would be better with a widebody plane.
The canceled the flight without notifying me in any way. Even the day before the flight I got an email notifying me of the still old (and no longer accurate) flight itinerary. When I arrived in Auckland to find out I no longer had a flight out of there, I felt stranded. I was told normally they would offer standby for the next flight (which would’ve been fine!) but they didn’t have any to Dunedin that day. I had to buy another $325 flight though another airline day of that they did not cover. Would not recommend. .
We waited outside at Honolulu airport. There's no restaurant or vending machines. Once you boarded, everything was closed inside the airport. So make sure to eat before coming.
Fabulous airline e and great lounge!
Excellent service all staff where very friendly patient and efficient solved a boarding problem for me due to me not being able to access the visa portal for the USA.
I never went and I’ve tried calling to cancel the flight see if I can postpone for another date but every time they’ll transfer me to another personal.
The Bula experience
The Plane is spectacular. Immaculately clean like showroom clean. Beautiful interior etc etc. However it took 45 minutes for the first drink to come out and nearly two hours for dinner to be served. On a flight that took off at 10.45 that is not fun. I actually fell asleep eating my main course. The food is just OK. Really needs work. Drinks where tiny pours so constantly needing filling up. The new where very very sweet people but there was this air of confusion about them. As if it was their first flight. It didn't install confidence in me if there was an emergency. I actually flew on to Sydney with the airline on the same plane and the crew where totally all over it!! Super on the ball, so I may have just got an inexperienced crew?
Pros: Nice crew, clean aircraft, on time departure.
Cons: Entertainment system.
