I had paid for my car in full. I had to wait for my bus to pick us up. He didn’t want to wait. When I arrived at the pick up I was late due to bad weather and my car was given away. Remember I paid in full the car so it should have been there no matter what. I receive a smaller car after paying for the more larger one and wasn’t given my money back. Was told my insurance on my master card wasn’t good enough for insurance which I had used Multiple times in Florida. Which is the reason I have this cards to for theses extras. I was forced to purchase insurance. He told me I had to complete the walk around and fill out the forms as I look for the damage. Never had to do that. I walked around in the dark as the property doesn’t have enough light to see the dents and scratches on the vehicle. The office wasn’t up to standard. Needs a face lift. Wanted to drop off the car and there’s didn’t have a night time drop off between. 11pm- 6am . Had to paid $100 for airport drove off.Reviewed Apr 9 2025

What started out to be $87 turned into $400 in the blink of an eye. The customer service sucks. The poor lady at the counter was by herself as the other gentleman was hanging out in the back. 10/10 would not recommend. The vehicle was nice but for $400 it better have been. POOR!!! Absurd pick-up procedures; bad attitude of the employees; there was not a single customer who did not have problems with the pick-up; they did not care that in my case I have a 10-month-old baby who had to wait more than an hour to be able to do an absurd pick-up; the cars have faults, dents and dirt; the check-out was also terrible, I went to drop off the car and the store was not even open; the police recommended leaving the cars on the street and videos for our backup, it was a disaster I would never go back to rent a car thereReviewed Jan 6 2025

My original rental experience was great. However, my plans had changed and I wanted to extend my rental. When I contacted an agent, she told me the charge to extend my rental would have been $500/day. I questioned her a number of times because I thought I misheard her. She confirmed that $500/day was the correct amount I would be charged if I kept the rental. I never got a good reason for this. Very disappointed.Reviewed Oct 21 2024

Liars. And I don’t think I’ll use Kayak again either. You pay for the rental before hand only to show up and be told that you have to buy their insurance because your deductible is $500 or greater. NextCar is a huge rip-off: it advertises a cheap rental price, then jacks up the price for add-ons the customer often has no choice but to accept: 1) Florida residents pay MORE, and they don't get "unlimited mileage" (per the advertisement), 2) the rental agency forces the customer to provide ACCESS to their car insurance website (password AND login), or provide the full documents of your auto insurance policy. The auto insurance card won't do: you have to have THE FULL POLICY document with you. 3) If your own insurance has a large deductible, then you HAVE to buy the agency's expensive insurance. The upper limit is $500. Otherwise, they take out $500 from your credit card which they say they'll pay back after 30 days--just long enough to incur a charge of INTEREST on the payment.l 4) If you don't pay the agency in advance for tolls, you can't pay cash at the toll booth. The rental agency toll device will trigger if you drive a toll road, and you'll pay $14 regardless of whether you paid in cash. All of this is "negotiated" when you go pick up your car, and the negotiations can take more than AN HOUR, so wait time and long lines are ridiculously, maddeningly long.
