I booked my car for 48 hours, but when I tried to drop it off after 47 hours, I learned the drop off location had closed 30 minutes earlier. Because the location was closed at the expiration time of my reservation, they charged me an extra day It would have been nice, when I picked up the car, if they had pointed out that the return location was going to be closed at 5pm on Saturday, as I could have easily been there by the 4pm closing time.Reviewed Apr 15 2024

Pick up was painful! Waited over 45 minutes to get to the agent. She was nice enough but then gave me a car that was too big and I took it because I just wanted to get out of there… as I was about to drive out I wanted a smaller car so I had to go back inside (and wait) for the car I originally wantedReviewed Apr 12 2024

Car was dirty from the outside. Service was poor...the agency sent incorrect invoice indicating and charging for 7 gallons of fuel when car was returned with full tank. Either agency is incompetent or too lazy to check vehicle fuel gauge.Reviewed Mar 30 2024

The booking you gave me was not in the airport and the pickup time approved and suggested by your booking service was when the Hertz location was closed so I was unable to pick up the reserved vehicle. The entire reason for booking in advance is to ensure I can trust I have a vehicle when I arrive. All of that was lost completely. I lack words to express my disappointmentReviewed Nov 22 2023

The employees at this location were amazing!!! There was a shortage of cars, no fault of their own, but they worked so hard to get us on the road and while we were waiting they were amazing!! Such a kind group!Reviewed Oct 13 2023

Everything about the pick up was a hot mess. It was a small side business of a car repair shop on the south side of Boston. There seemed to be one woman who was in charge taking calls and handling customers who were there to pick up cars. We had to wait for well over 1/2 hour to be helped. At one point there were 6 of us in a chaotic “office” about the size of a large closet. When we finally got our car it seemed to have been pretty much just sprayed with air freshener and that’s it. They were careful about taking pics of all damage/marks on the car. The young guy was polite—no issues. But after we drove away we noticed how filthy the windshield was including many circles from people mounting phone holders. Also the back right tire was low—we had to add air. And there was an alert on the dashboard screen that read “maintenance—oil and filter”. ??? The car ran fine and was comfortable but for almost $1000 it was an unacceptable experience.Reviewed Oct 5 2023

Car was great and ready for when we needed it. Felt that we didn’t really have the option to prepay for a tank of Petrol upon return explained to us properly when we collected the car. We returned the car with half a tank of petrol and expected we would get a credit for that but no.Reviewed Oct 4 2023

Terrible! I’ll never rent with Hertz again and will NEVER book through Kayak. Car was dirty, one window broke, took 2 hours to check out. Took 45 minutes to drop off. Hertz customer service is basically non-existent and Kayak’s customer service is literally non-existent. It felt like a misinformation scam as Kayak booked us at on off-site location but in a “sneaky” way that made us believe it was at BOS airport. Do NOT use Kayak or Hertz.
