It is not Avis problem. It is miscommunication between kayak and Expedia. According to kayak the pickup location was 64 th street NYC. Were as in Avis and Expedia the location is different queens NY.Reviewed Nov 15 2025

The agent from whom I picked up the car was very good and professional. The agent with whom I dropped off the car, was not very professional. He would not answer my questions about dropping off at that location, and walked away as I was talking. Then I found out Avis had charged me extra for dropping off at another nearby location (10 streets away), from where I had picked up, even though that's what they had instructed me to do, because the location I picked up from, closes prematurely at 3:00 p.m.. Spent 2 hours in a sweltering room. 85° 100% humidity as one poor clerk tried to handle 12 rentals. Even after she was done, took another 40 minutes to deliver the car from the garage. Whoever runs the 53rd street location should be ashamed of themselves.Reviewed Jul 19 2025

Three out of four of the Service members were unfriendly, rude, short, clear disinterested in providing any type of service. I waited in line at JFK for over an hour from 10-11am on a Friday morning to pick up my pre booked vehicle. It was a shambles - so very slow to process each customer. Never had such a wait at Hertz? That said, staff were ok, car was clean enough (not showroom condition) and have not yet returned so can’t comment.Reviewed Jul 12 2025
