Customer service desk in Atlanta leaves a bit to be desired. Woman at the desk never looked me in the eye. No joy in her voice, no emotion at all. 90 minute wait on a Monday at 340pm. Three workers taking up to 10 minutes per customer with about 50 in line. To make matters worse, I looked at every single other rental car agency's line at ATL and most were just walk right up to the counter, or literally 2-4 customers in line vs Avis' 50. But the Avis system would not let me cancel the reservation ("free cancelation" that I could not use via their website). Was able to book on short notice. Counter agent was good, but I did get charged for insurance I didn't want. Am seeking reimbursement. They needed more agents-long line and wait. Reserved a Camry, but got a Ford Escape with 72k miles. Expensive rental. Didn't have my Wizard # with me; they wouldn't take it later. Counter workers at Atlanta airport are in their own world. Line of 7-8 people and they sat there for 20+ min not helping any customers. Once they finally decided to help, the coordinator I worked with was rude and unpleasant. When returning in Birmingham, it was a similar experience. They did not have any cars available! Terrible to plan to rent and go to all the trouble to get there and NOTHING. There were dozens of people standing outside because they had no cars. Obviously, a terrible management of their online reservation system!! BADReviewed Jul 24 2024

We were a tad bit early, but were still accommodated. The car was dirty ( not vacuumed and not completely full, the time to change oil indicator was on came on day 2 of a 9 day one way reservation, I immediately took the vehicle to a Avis location that was unable to rectify the problem. I contacted Avis and was told if I took the car for an oil change, and turned in my receipt that I would be reimbursed for my out of pocket expenses, I misplaced the receipt so now I'm out even more for something that should have been taken care of prior to renting this vehicle to anyone.Reviewed May 27 2024
