I left my truck and it was broken into on hertz property. And now 2 weeks later, I'm being charged 62$ multiple times multiple days. I bought the insurance, I filled up the tank, i dropped off on time and filled out paperwork as asked. Never got a call or email about any new charges or reason why there would be, but 2 weeks later... I'm being charged without any notice multiple timesReviewed Jan 14 2024

We made a reservation months ahead because four of us were taking a trip out of town. When we arrived to pick up the car, the Nissan quest/minivan we had reserved was nowhere to be seen. We were informed that our "choice" was a Dodge journey or nothing!! It's a huge difference to go from a car that seats five people and seven bags, to one that seats four people and three bags. When asked if there would be a discount due to the fact that this car was several classes below what we had reserved and PAID FOR IN ADVANCE, we were told no. The whole interaction put a really bad taste in my mouth. I've been a hertz gold club member many times in my life, but my loyalties will go elsewhere after this situation. Pros:The vehicle was not cleaned inside or out. It had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke inside. The staff was not helpful at all and said that no other vehicle was available. I should have canceled and requested a refund!!Cons:The paperwork clearly stated the vehicle was a no smoking vehicle AND that there is a $400 cleaning fee! I'd like to know if these clowns charged that to the previous renters!Reviewed Apr 6 2021

Cons:It was a surprise that on top of the payment I owed $80 in taxes. This negated the benefit of this transaction vs other reservations. Then, my flight arrived at 9PM. Hertz was closed. I could not get a rental car for one night as none were available so I had to Uber for $60 more. So not reserving here next time.Reviewed Mar 29 2021

Pros:Staff was very friendly, quick and easy to get the rental. The rental was clean and ready for me.Cons:My experience this time was awesome. I just wish that when booking online you can book for a different time, it never let me change the “noon” time.Reviewed Sep 22 2019

Paid more than quotedPros:It was an easy drop offCons:No one was at the office during open hours for 30 to 45 mins. The person didn’t have a key to open the office so we waited even more. I was charged more than I was quoted in an official email with amount I would pay in total and no one seemed to know what to do about it, passing the blame onto the next person we dealt with. It’s still unresolved. I rate check before I buy so I’m not very happy about it. The car had terrible alignment issues. The drop off at corpus Christie however was easy and quick and there was a person at the desk so no waiting at all.Reviewed Jul 7 2018
