When I booked this car rental through Kayak, the listing gave me a set price that included unlimited miles, multiple drivers, and my insurance. After waiting nearly two hours in line at the Thrifty counter in Denver, I was told that the listing was incorrect and that I owed twice as much as I'd already paid -- and that if I wanted multiple drivers, it'd cost me much more. I really don't like being lied to, and both Kayak and Thrifty lied to me and gave me terrible service. I'll never use either company again.Reviewed Sep 17 2025

The first car's carplay didn't work so they moved me to another one. That carplay also didn't work and the car was filthy on the outside and had scratches and dings everywhere. Upon returning the car they charged me for a ding in the bumper that was there when I picked it up which I have photos ofReviewed Sep 15 2025

Although there was a slight delay due to the holiday weekend, pick up was easy. The car was somewhat new and clean. I would highly recommend Thrifty car rental.Reviewed Sep 8 2025

No car pick up at airport , I had to take a train to bari center to pick up the car. Also i wanted to return one day later, impossible to get someone on the phone, and impossible to modify the rental online…. So basically, no one answers, and online website doesn’t work to modify ????Reviewed Sep 4 2025

Hello Thrifty Customer Care, I’m writing to dispute several charges on my recent rental (Vehicle: SIRENCOREGXFW1S, Contract 01621/1279470). Total charged: $537.01 for 2 days at $69.99/day + a $30/day upgrade. Based on the receipt, here’s what I’m contesting: Inter-City Fee – $100.00 The car was picked up at IAH (Houston Intercontinental) on 08/28 and returned to HOU (Hobby) on 08/30. This was within the same metro area and was driven only 239 miles. I was not clearly informed that returning to a different Houston airport would trigger a $100 fee, nor was an alternative offered at pickup. Given the short distance, same-city return, and minimal mileage, I’m requesting a full waiver of this fee as a goodwill/clarity issue. Fuel Purchase Option (FPO) – $36.86 The vehicle left at 97% fuel and was returned at 97% fuel. With the tank returned nearly identical and only 239 miles driven, there was no need for a prepaid fuel purchase. If FPO was added, it was not clearly explained that it’s non-refundable when returning at the same level. Please remove/refund this charge. Concession Fee Recovery 11.11% – $33.33 and VLC/CFC/BUS – $22.81 Please provide the exact base amount used to calculate the 11.11% and a written explanation of each surcharge. The tax base of $466.96 also appears inflated relative to the rental/upgrade subtotal and add-ons. I’m requesting a line-by-line tax/surcharge calculation. LDW – $73.98 (2 × $36.99/day) If LDW was required to obtain the quoted rate, please confirm. Otherwise, note that the overall pricing appears to have increased significantly beyond the expected 2-day rental + upgrade. If LDW was not clearly optional or was auto-selected, I request a courtesy adjustment. To be reasonable, the total should reflect: Base + Upgrade (2 days): $199.98 LDW (if retained): $73.98 Removal of Inter-City Fee ($100) and FPO ($36.86) Corrected surcharges/taxes calculated on the proper taxable base . Please review and issue a refund/adjusted invoice, or provide a detailed written breakdown justifying each contested amount. I appreciate your prompt help—I’m happy to discuss by phone as well.Reviewed Sep 3 2025

The car was dirty, inside and out. The rental clerk was less than helpful or willing to provide direction. The additional fees made the total price more than double the advertised price.Reviewed Sep 2 2025
