The biggest problem booking through Kayak was that even though my car reservation was “confirmed”, when I got to the Hertz desk they said that it is a third party app so they did not have that reservation and only had a more expensive car to offer me for those dates. Because we were on a tight schedule, we couldn’t shop around last minute and ultimately had to take the more expensive car. Bad experience booking through Kayak and ultimately blame Hertz for also allowing themselves to be listed on third party websites without this guarantee.Reviewed Jun 16 2024

Very significant hidden on costs at pickup, including extra charges for airport locations for pickup and drop off and additional charge for one way travel. All of these details were know at time of booking and costs should have been clear. I would not have used service if I was aware of these.Reviewed Oct 7 2023

Instruction for car pick-up and drop-off could be clearer. What is required for car pick-up, such as a US issued driver's license, and directions to get to the pick-up and drop-off locations. Pros:Paulette was really helpful when we picked up. The drop off was not as easy in Milan, because it wasn’t clear where to go, so we went into the store to ask but there was only one person working and a lot of people waiting. I waited 30 minutes to talk to someone and was told that I just needed to drive up to the 5th floor of garage to return.Reviewed Oct 21 2019
