When picking up my vehicle, they insisted I take a hybrid vehicle saying it was going to get better mileage for the price and save me on gas but it had worse mileage compared to the vehicle I had reserved, so I really just paid more for gas and more for the vehicle they upsold me on. Nice, clean comfortable car. For some reason the pick up office in terminal 2 was closed for ten minutes as we arrived, but eventually the person working there arrived and we got our car.Reviewed Oct 18 2022

Everything was great with the rental until we dropped the car off in Madrid after 10 days and discovered we didn't have a spare tire for the whole trip. We were lucky that we never needed the spare. Not great attention to detail by Hertz in Barcelona. Lesson learned I will always check the spare tire from now on.Reviewed Oct 4 2022

It was absolutely shocking, the car we had was an orange Volkswagen T Roc it had an oil leakage and the car broke down in the middle of Cambrils and we were left stranded as Hertz done absolutely nothing we clocked the SOS button in the car and we spoke to the people on the other side who said they sent out the police and a maintenance team. They did not, we were stuck at the side of a road in a foreign country for 5 hours waiting to be helped. We phoned the customer service who said they would send up a tow truck and the police too, and they again did not. We had to contact the police and the Road side team who them closed off the side of the road but they did not help us at all. The police finally came and again they could not help us so we were left stranded until we got a €250 taxi back to the airport. We had to go to the airport Hertz who gave us a car for “free” but I checked my bank account to see £500+ has been taken out my account for this absolutely shocking service. I was informed we would have got a taxi to Alicante for free and our money back but we have clearly gotten neither and when this was explained to us over the phone by customer services they then said that it was only a taxi to Barcelona airport.
