Book Ace car rentals in Barcelona

Pros: I called to announce a flight delay. They asked that I emails which I did. Yet no one waited and the rental was cancelled (they kept the money!)

Cons: Anything

Pros: Not much. Once we got the whole ordeal sorted out we were able to get our keys. Before that was awful.

Cons: The booking wasn’t actually through Ace, they sold the booking to a local company (no mention of that in the booking). Once we found the right counter, they wouldn’t provide us with the rental since I had no international drivers licenses (not mentioned in the rental). I’ve had one in the past and never been asked for it. Thank God I was able to buy one from my phone. All while this was happening I was trying to call ace, only gl find out their customer service is only available during normal business hours. I was in a Spanish airport so the hours didn’t match up so I got zero help from them.

Pros: Nothing- I’m pissed at kayak for confirming a reservation with a company that doesn’t exist. I spent an additional $250 on cab fares and wasted a half day of my vacation due to kayaks error. I am f-ing pissed.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: After making reservations with this company months in advance, we were told when we arrived at the Barcelona airport to pick it up that they could not rent to us because we did not have an international driver's license! We have never been asked for that in the past when renting a car overseas. There was nothing in their ad that mentioned an international license being required. We stated as such, and were basically told it was something everyone knew. We were then forced to find another company who would rent us a car on the spot with no prior reservation. Needless to say, it more than doubled the cost of a two week car rental! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!

Cons: No one at the airport had heard of ace rentals. We asked at the main information desk and 3 different rental agencies. We ended up having to rent a car from a different company. Totally stupid.

Cons: Rental form never said I needed an Int'l license. Was refused rental in Barcelona. No problems renting elsewhere in Europe with stateside license.

Ace Car is Gold Car...

Pros: Nothing...

Cons: First of all it's Gold Car and not Ace, no one informed me of that. Secondly the rental place insisted that I have an international drivers license when it's not actually mandatory. So I had to go to Hertz and pay 5 times more...

Cons: One should know beforehand that there will be a deposit of 1100€ or non-refundable insurance of 65€ additionally to what one pays online for AXA insurance. It was not written anywhere.

Price switch!

Pros: Nice car, but the "inflate tires" light was on at time of pick up. When I pointed this out to the attendant, he told me the light indicated the gas tank was full.

Cons: I was only able to rent the car they had on hand if I purchased the insurance. Otherwise I had to go to another location and they couldn't guarantee the would have a car. What a scam!
