Pros: Staff friendly and helpful. Easy to find the car rental counter and car.
Cons: The car had a lot of miles on it and had some mechanical problems. Rug pads had been oiled and we had to flip them over otherwise they were super slippery and it was difficult to drive.
Pros: Staff were friendly.
Cons: Car was in horrible condition, tires beyond time to change, bad alignment, inside and outside car was dirty. I have requested for another car they claimed here was another car in the same condition.
Lack of automatic vehicles
Cons: They had no automatic economy size vehicles and tried to charge us more to get a larger automatic vehicle. We insisted that they give us what they have, as our reservation included an automatic and we cannot drive manual. They made us wait an hour and fight with them before giving us an automatic Ford Explorer. If a rental agency does not have what is promised it is on them to fix it NOT at the customer's expensive, both time and money. Very frustrating.
Cons: They Cancel the reservation and no tell anything, they sale day i was going to pick up the car, i got advice
Cons: I reserved an automatic. The lady at the desk said she had an automatic. When I got to the lot, the car they gave me was ... a manual. When I asked for the automatic I had reserved, I was told they didn’t have any. After some questioning, they said they DID have several automatics - but they were SUVs, and they refused to allow me to take one because they were more expensive than the one I reserved. Instead, they made me wait an hour in a hot parking lot (with my two little kids, wife, and mother-in-law) while they drove over another car that had just been returned and was not yet cleaned.
Reservation didn’t matter
Cons: Our flight got delayed by theee hours due to weather. Arrived in Santiago and the guy at Alamo said they have no cars because we were three hours late. Made no effort to attempt to resolve the issue and left us with no car despite having a reservation. Luckily Hertz had cars left.
As if in the U.S.
Pros: The staff was prompt, courteous and helpful.
Cons: As with most rental car companies, it would be easier to start with a full tank of gas so as not having to try to guess when refueling how much is needed.

Pros: The guy at the rental counter was helpful and friendly.
Cons: The car was a beater. It had clearly been in an accident. The passenger door popped when you opened it, and the entire car shook when you drove the speed limit on the freeway. There was a film of dust over the interior when we got it. It guzzled gas. The price we paid didn't include a surcharge for Santiago tolls, even though we spent all our time in Valparaíso. I'd never rent from this location again.
Pros: Friendly, genuinely helpful, staff @ SCL Alamo desk. Great first impression of Chile; too bad the rest of the nation didn't abide. Hired two times from Alamo SCL within the 3-month Chile period. Probably the best place to hire a car in Chile. 500USD is required as a deposit. Requested a Chevy Sail and got one each time; had a good reason though. First one was in top form; the second was a bit banged-up even if both clocked-up low km's. To get the best rates and the best price: hire a car via kayak.com for a week block; then extend/shorten by phone with Alamo SCL desk.
Cons: Being charged $10 for dog hair by pickup/drop off crew; being told to be grateful because normally they charge fifty for dog hair. No clear road signs for pickup/dropoff. Being automatically charged and no opting out of the Santiago auto road toll beeper -daily- for a month, when I only used it for 24hrs tops. Having to vacuum the vehicle-interior the second time around, removing every dog hair, to avoid surprise fees.
Cons: Tires had no air,15 PSI in one, after pumping tires ,car pulled hard to one side and vibrated violently at 90 kmh,no horn, wiper blades broken, and it rained. Very dangerous state of vehicle Check in was very rude, bad artitude
Check the car overall before leaving the pickup zone
Pros: Like the different models that they offered
Cons: That when I picked up the car, it had a lot of imprerfections. If I haven't told the Rep, I would have taken the car like that and would have been responsible for those imperfections (dents).
