Pros:
Staying at Chateau de la Pioline was an extraordinary experience that I recommend to all interested in an authentic Provence accommodation. It‘s offering modern comfort in a historic building, maintaining its medieval charm intact. Though located at the outskirts of the city, once you get in you feel like you pass onto another world.
Cons:
Everything that is less then perfect is part of the charm and authenticity. If you mind a mild “old house” smell, remember that the chateau was built in the 14the century.

Pros:
The location was central to the town centre but we were surprised that it was surrounded by industrial and retail outlets.
Cons:
On the second day a large tour group arrived before we came down for breakfast. The staff did not seem to be able to cater for this and we had little to eat and no cups, utensils etc. Disappointing service that day and breakfast still cost us 24 euros per person!

Pros:
Friendly staff, clean, tidy, soft towels an, of course, authentic atmosphere and design. Amazing experience!
Cons:
I was informed that my small kid could have a free breakfast, but it was eventually invoiced. Building has a very a very specific smell (in the room it was fine, but corridors are creepy). Hair dryer didn’t work properly. On Monday there’s no dinner, minibar is empty.

Pros:
This is an historic building that has a lot of original features and character. We enjoyed staying in this chateau on our last night in France. Although the hotel entrance is located on a busy commercial street, the building itself is set back far enough for a lot of privacy. After staying in St. Remy de Provence for several days, we chose this hotel because it was closer to the Marseille Airport. We had a tremendous six course dinner in the hotel restaurant, which dates back to the 17th Century. We mentioned that it was our anniversary and the Chef came out to greet us as we left.
