Pros: I have celiacs disease, they were really good at catering for this, a huge basket of gluten free breads, cereals and cakes turned up at breakfast and I was walked through which items on the buffet were gluten free, which included the nuremberger sausages. Add to this that the service is truly 5*, not always the case in 5* hotels, the high ceilings in the rooms, the pool, gym, sauna, gf steak tartare for supper, the view of the Alster at breakfast, it really can't be improved on. AND most importantly all of the staff, without exception, were friendly, helpful and went the extra distance to make sure you really felt looked after.

Cons: Hotel needs a lot of work and updating . Lobby carpeting very shabby and dirty. Rooms were not at all attractive and had a musty odor. I would give this hotel 3 Stars definitely this is not a 5 Star hotel.

Pros: Very quiet rooms. Nespresso coffee machine in room was nice amenity as well as regular kettle. Good breakfast buffet selection.
Cons: Limited number of servers at breakfast so most mornings getting coffee at the table was slow. Taxis needs to be ordered at the front desk. One morning I had to wait 30 minutes for taxi to arrive. This was not the hotel's fault but just more a caution that taxis do not circulate this area (unlike at other hotels I have stayed at where taxis are waiting outside). Limited English TV channels.

Pros: The staff were great, the hotel location however is a bit tricky if you have children but having said that, it's again a beautiful quiet area. Loved this place mainly because of staff :)
Cons: Having to pay €25 uber because there were no clear alternative transport options offered. Only realised the train from Hamburg airport was coming to cost me only €1.60 and taking 40-45mins only. The beds were too high for children Water facilities too fifficult to regulate right temp when bathing children or personally having a shower. Hot water is very hot and cold is very cold the inbetween is almost impossible to achieve :(. Also bathroom was too tiny A hotel with no irons & or kettles in their rooms, was disappointed. Not Everyone drinks infused tea tho
