Was not given a full size vehicle despite booking full size. Vehicle had a warning light on after picking up and I was told my only option was to spend 6 hours driving back through Denver traffic to return for a new rental car. New rental car was even smaller than the original car I was provided with. I was also charged a fee for fuel at $8.99 per gallon even though I returned the car full!

Shuttle times were unacceptable. Had to wait 25-30 minutes each way for a shuttle. The guy at the ticket counter spent way too much time and effort trying to up-sell add-on charges.

Thos company is a bait and switch company. Very displeased. I rented a mid sized suv and paid in full when reserved. When I showed up they said I only paid for a compact suv. No, it was very clear what I rented. I had to pay more than double again to get what I wanted when I picked it up. I paid over 300 dollars when I reserved my car, when I picked it up it was almost another 500 dollars extra. I will never rent from this company again. I will never recommend this company. I will talk bad about this company to anyone looking torrent from fox rentals. Do not use them for anything. You've Been warned.

First, they said that the reservation I made had been cancelled due that I needed to pick up the car at noon. Even do I showed them the reservation where it showed clearly that I had to pick it up at 630pm. Second, because of what I explained earlier the person at the counter gave me a much higher rate than the one I reserved online. When I complained they told me they had no more cars at the rate I had reserved initially. It seems this company is not what you expect and for some reason, they want to charge a different rate than what the client gets online. The person at the counter next to me had the same issue and was upset. Therefore, I would NOT recommend renting from this company.

They overcharged me - basically a bait and switch. Lots of Google reviews say the same thing, and I am sad I didn't listen. I thought paying online would alleviate that since everything is booked and paid off, but I was wrong.

The car was malfunctioning and we brought it to Alamo rental at the airport but they didn’t help at all. We were forced to park the car and leave it at our families. The only person that helped was the guy who took the car back and they called to get us a discount on the rental which we haven’t received.

Location was short on vehicles. Employees were working hard to keep wait to a minimum, even giving free upgrades if category reserved wasn't available. Shuttle bus driver was exceptional also - loading all bags so customers could get to the counter quickly and safely. SUV was in great shape with fewer miles than I've seen in rental cars since the pandemic. Excellent overall experience!

Your website said they were at the terminal and they were not. You need to take a shuttle. I opted to pay more for a rental with sixt so my elderly mother would not need to take a shuttle and then we ended up having to take one.

I didn’t like anything. The staff was extremely rude. I arrived and had to wait in line for 20 minutes because each of the four staff members was having casual conversations with customers who arrived in the shuttle bus with me. When I got to the counter, the agent said, “can’t help you” after I presented my license and credit card because my license had a chip on the corner. TSA accepts it, but not Sixt. There was no apology for their policy or attempt to help me find another rental group at 11p. There was no kindness. There was disdain, rudeness and a “screw you” attitude.

Provided a vehicle that was not clean and did not have working lights. After driving at night we realized that lights on one side of the vehicle were not working. We later learned it’s because they were completely disconnected. Terrifying to discover when you’re driving down a mountain at night through switch backs and have no proper lighting and no knowledge of how to fix it.

Avis had a huge line of customers and only three individual serving them. We waited between an hour and a half and two hours and then decided to leave and take a Lyft when we realized we probably at least had another hour left to wait. This is Unacceptable.

I tried getting a ride from the airport and as I was walking up to the bus the driver closed the doors I was knocking on the door and they drove away. When I got to Avis they informed me that they couldn’t rent to me because my current license had a hole in it. Even though I showed proof that it was still a valid license on the DMV’s website. And I got charged for insurance on a car I never got.

The worst rental car experience I have ever had. I have rented with many of your competitors at Denver International and have never had an experience this bad. I waited one hour and 17 minutes in line to check in and get my vehicle. The longest I have ever waited with a competitor is 15 minutes. Many others who came in after I did would have had even longer wait times, as the line grew to be out the doors into the outside areas. The staff made no apologies or offerings due to the long wait times and acted as if it were normal. And once I got our vehicle the low coolant light was on and we noticed many significant imperfections on the outside, for example missing the G and E in RANGE ROVER at the front. Based on this experience, it will be my first and last with Budget.

Nothing but good things to say about my car rental experience with Payless. Everyone there was very nice, friendly, and helpful. When our original car had accidentally been double booked, they had a new upgraded car ready right away. And the shuttles to and from the airport were super convenient.

Pros:

The car was great. It was clean and a comfortable ride. No issues. Return was easy too

Cons:

They use the Avis shuttle but do not tell you that. I wanted 45 minutes for the shuttle until driver told me that they were also picking up Payless customers. Picking up the car was awful. They tried to charge me for an upgrade after saying they didn't have any cars in the class I reserved. Then the car they assigned me to was already occupied by another customer that was also assigned the same car. It took a long time to actually get the car I reserved. I felt like I was being scammed. A different employee helped me after I was assigned an occupied car. He was great. He gave me the car I had reserved and did it quickly. No problems after that. Also, I could not reach customer service by phone to ask about shuttle. Calls would not go through or were not answered

Pros:

Pickup was easy and quick, that's where the positives ended.

Cons:

The car was obviously not cleaned, there were crumbs in the steering wheel and change in the center console, the windshield was impossible to see though at night because it was so dirty (like it had been sprayed to be cleaned and never wiped off), the rearview mirror was broken and jiggled while the car was in motion. When it came time for drop-off, the address on the contract printout was incorrect so the GPS would have taken us the wrong way had we not realized it was obviously the wrong way.

System went down so check in process didn't work. Car wasn't ready even though i was told it would be. Once I did get a car, it smelled like cigarette smoke so I asked for a new one. Customer service was helpful though so they did resolve the issues once i brought them up.

Waited for a disturbingly long time for the shuttle from the airport. Other rental agencies’ shuttles came through 5 or 6 times before the one Hertz shuttle came. Then waited again in line at the agency, watched as two rental agents just wandered around and talked to other agents even though there was a long line of customers. I didn’t get the car I reserved, instead I was told “you can pick whichever one you want from Section 1”. Well, there was slim pickins for sure and everyone else who had just been in line was trying to get the same cars. It was like kids on the playground running to be the first to get the dodgeballs. Even though I could have picked “anything” the brand of car I actually reserved wasn’t there at all, not one, and I upgraded on the reservation website just to get that car. Also, the agent kept trying to get me to upgrade to a camaro, even though it was clear I was driving through the night to get to my destination and then drop off the car. Why would I want to drive a camaro over mountain passes at night in the winter? Come on, Hertz. You can do better.

Car wasn't really clean inside nor out, didn't have car we'd reserved. Wipers on car didn't work--this was a safety issue. Paid more for this car to get a Ford transit or similar, instead got a minivan. If we'd wanted a minivan we would have reserved one.

The people at the service counter were friendly and tried to be helpful, however, they could not give me the car I had reserved or the equivalent. After an hour at the counter I had to insist that I get the car I had reserved (or equivalent) at the price I had reserved it. In the end, I had to pay more and did not get a 4 wheel drive. I had to add over 100 miles to my travel to avoid a snowy route.

Rental car level was wrong when we picked up, then they lied about the coverage and he added more than asked for. We went to pick up the car and the lady outside then said we have an electric car, but we had a large SUV. Made me prove it in an email after the guy inside said we had a small SUV. It was a joke from start to finish.

Everything was great until car return. The attendant was nowhere to be seen so I went inside, waited 10-min in line only to be sent back outside. Still, no attendant to be seen. I walked over to the exit gate attendant, and asked if she could check me in. Without speaking, she just pointed. After a little back and forth, I realized she was pointing to the guy sitting in a closed car playing on his phone. Seemingly confused (I was standing outside his car with my contract and key in hand), he asked me what I needed. I explained to him that I had been there for a while and then went inside and stood in line for 10-minutes. Without apology, he said twice that he didn’t see me drive in.

I reserved a luxury car. And was given a BMW 2 series. These are small. And my husband is tall. It did not have seat warms nor steering column warmer. It was also not clean. It looked like a fluid splattered on front interior. We saw this in the sun light. I asked for a larger car and so they offered us an suv at 65$ increase per day. They had no comparable car to offer. We arrived after 1 am Friday morning to the car rental location we were tiered and no other options. Dispite their full lot. I reserved the car for Thursday 11:30. Took possession of the car Friday after 1am. And they of course changed for Thursday. Is this how business is done these days ? I am not impressed

The wait was almost 1 hour. The salesman was very slow. We ended up with a terrible dirty smelly car which was way over priced. He sold us a toll pass, which we knew we did not need, due to the times we were traveling, but we were too tired to say no. The car smelled like pot the entire time requiring us to leave our windows open, in winter in Colorado. The worst car rental experience ever!

I would have rated 5 stars as everything was exceptionally good until i wanted to extend rental for five days. They gave me two options- Pay 300 "extension fee" on top of original daily rate or come back to airport close out first contract open new one. It was a huge waste of time just to try and extract huge fee.

Well, first let’s not kid ourselves this is Fox Rent a Car. They are not located with the main rental car companies at the complex. Instead they are about a 1/4 mile away in another area. The moment you get there, it’s about the upsell. At checkout, mind you this was pre-paid, he tacked on gas and tolls. I never said I wanted either. So, then there was that. Everything was filthy, the shuttle bus drivers were taken from nascar and it just reeked of used car lot vibes.

Pick up process was long and painful. Agent kept trying to upsell (vehicle type, insurance options, refueling options, etc) and was visibly annoyed when I refused to accept any of the options. I just wanted to get the vehicle and get on with my trip.

Scam. Cheap prices but then try to sell insurance that I didn’t need and refuse to rent the car I had reserved unless I bought their insurance (I had already purchased insurance through Kayak which they said was invalid and I have personal auto insurance that they also said was not valid). It took 30 minutes to pick up the car because of this negotiation and every customer in line was having the same experience.

I didn’t pick up the rental. I called customer service for a refund because we got picked by the wrong ride, we had to stand in line for a long time and they asked for $500 security deposit. I canceled the rental and the customer service staff told me to call the company I booked my reservation with. York rental is a big joke!
