I would recommend something big enough that you’ll be comfortable in with your group and your luggage, the traffic around Fort Myers area is heavy at all times of the day and makes short distance trips longer than you’d expect. You’re going to want to be comfortable in your vehicle because you’ll be spending time in it. Make sure you get something with android auto or apple car play display this takes the edge off traffic by recommending alternate routes avoiding the slow traffic areas

Pick up and drop off was good. Only concern was the level of detail they had on each car. Every little scratch and mark was noted on contract. Gave me the impression that any random new scratch would be costly. Further the car I was provided needed Service Soon. Bottom line is I would rent from them again.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cars/prices and attempts to constantly up charge were annoying. I wanted a 4 door sedan. One was available in price range and noted to smell like smoke so we were given a 2 door sports car. Difficult to fit our luggage and horrible on gas. Next time I’ll go back to renting with Enterprise. I know I’ll get the appropriate car.

I was very satisfied overall, we thought the pick up process could have/should have been quicker. Especially since we had done the online check in, we still had to wait in line for 30 minutes. The car seats that we rented were very low quality and the infant seat was missing an anchor strap that I had to improvise to install it safely in the car. The vehicle was clean and new, very nice. Drop off was very easy, just pulled up and parked walked away. I would recommend Thrifty and we’ll likely use them again.

The car was clean and in great running condition.

Cons:

When I booked this vehicle, I had set the pickup location to RSW Airport. The car was a 28 minute uber away from the airport, which cost me additional money. When I asked if I could return it to the airport, they said no. This required us to leave the hotel an hour earlier to get the car dropped off and get a ride to the airport before we left. The staff at Enterprise wasn't rude, but they weren't friendly either. I don't generally write bad reviews, but it was very irritating that I booked a vehicle to be picked up at the airport and was not informed that the location that they reserved was not at the airport. I put that fault on KAYAK and not Enterprise.

I was greeted and given a five star line up of cars for my choosing and was in and out of the counter in minutes. They didn't nickel and dime about charges and provided car with toll device if needed whereas Fox or others like them want to charge for everything. Hertz is great as I am a gold member for years

Good, clean car. Easy pickup and drop off. I tried to change pickup time but NO ONE answered the phone, web site was useless and eventually got a chat person who took my question, then disappeared. Hertz needs to greatly improve its communication system or go broke again!

the car had over 67,000 miles on it and not in great running condition. It stalled out on me on a couple of occasions. There was no one at the return lane to check out with so I had to go to the terminal counter to check out. No one inquired as to how my rental experience was. disappointing.

I reserved an economy rental which was a Versa, Spark or similar. When I got there it was going to be an electric vehicle which was fine. I was only renting it for one day (six hours to be exact). The agent told me I had to bring it back full. I questioned how I was going to charge it at the airport. He told me that I would be charged a minimum fee of $35. This did not seem right to me, there is no way to circumvent this charge. I then had to up size to a medium car. When I got to the car, the gas was 3/4 full. They were closing and I had to take it. Not a great experience for sure.

Getting the car was a strange experience. I asked the clerk at least five times what kind of car he had for me and he just wouldn't answer me. It took major effort to clarify that there were several different cars in the category I had reserved and that I just had to pick one out of the lot and take it. He seemed totally unaware what cars were available and only a very vague idea of what a "regular SUV" even was. I found that there were signs above the parking spaces saying "Regular SUV" and I had a choice of about 5 different vehicles to choose from, although not the Toyota RAV4 I had reserved, although to be fair, the small print did say "or equivalent." The Honda I chose was pretty clean and satisfactory for my needs.

2 hour wait at Ft. Myers. We waited on the Avis line longer than our flight. The vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke. Our agent at Ft. Myers was very pleasant and respectful and delightful.

I was charged the rental cost on making my reservation, Kayak had no record of this transaction or the Insurance I paid for so when I get to the counter to pick up the car I’m charged again for what I paid a week earlier for I showed the counter person the charges came out of my account but that didn’t matter I have been charged twice so my experience with fox rentals was not good.

Our car was dirty. A bag of popcorn in the door. Covered in scratches. 75,000 miles .Our bill showed $80 for a drop off charge. She said it would not be on the final bill. She told me we would have toll charges and if I did not get a pass for $12 there would be an extra $15 processing fee. We paid. No toll needed. Slow service. I was embarrassed when I showed my wife and friends the car. Our friends dropped us off and waited 30 minutes with my wife while I waited and did paperwork. I already paid! I never give a negative review

Our plane landed at 6:00 PM. Your remote pickup, about 5 miles from the airport, closed at 6:00 with no recourse to pick up the car we' paid or elsewhere, nor were we make aware when we booked of the 6:00 closure, even though our pick up time would have conflicted. Calls to the Payless "helpline" (there's a mis-nomer if ever there was one) fell on totally unconcerned ears. We had to pay that night for an Uber to our hotel, then again the next day for another uber to pick up the car. I hope you don't expect me to ever use payless again.

Wanted to extend rental for 3 days. Called Payless # on receipt pamphlet. I was told it was Budget line and they did not handle Payless. When I questioned the pamphlet # I was told " must be a misprint. I then went to Ft Myers desk at airport and told me I had to "return car and re-rent" costing me 4x the amount $. She said I should have called the phone # to extend. I explained I did and she just said "I don't know what to tell You." I am owed app $200!! 601.622.1209. Judy Reagan

Kayak falsely advertised my Payless rental as "in terminal" at Fort Myers, it was not, the location was 15 miles away without shuttle service and closed 10 minutes after I landed. I had to rent an entirely different vehicle at almost twice the price. Payless would not return my calls, I had to dispute the charges with Amex

Everything went great… when we got to shuttle pick up area at airport the shuttle literally pulled right up. When we got to the rental facility there was no wait.. we upgraded to a convertible and got a great deal.. return was also so quick and easy.. there was no issue with deposit or return of deposit.. it was supposed to be a 250 hold and then returned back when car was returned but I didn’t even see the charge on my credit card.. Tra helped us and was amazing!!

Check in staff kindly comped the extra driver since the credit card was in my name, but my husband is the better driver.

Cons:

There were a few buff marks on the car I wanted to point out/document, but no one was doing that or had me sign off saying the car was in good shape. Was unsure as I left the garage
