The car I reserved online was supposedly unavailable and I was forced to upgrade at a rate 2x the original quote. Not happy with Alamo and will definitely not be returning and I warn future customers to choose alternate rental companies.

We had a reservation for 2 cars week's in advance and still there were no car's for us waiting.....After 2 hours of begging 😢 we somehow got the car's. Sorry but that's unacceptable 😔 if I run my business that way I would be hungry. I saw there people waiting four five hours for the car 🚗...Not a way to do business.....I will reconsider if I want to go through this again really not a good experience. Car class reserved not available. Wait estimated at 1h. Class above immediately available but was asked to pay an upgrade! Took a lower class (no refund there...). Was informed that any breakdown would cost me 290$ for intervention, after I mentioned I was using my credit card insurance. And funnigly, the car I was given had a permanent hand brake alarm problem despite hand brake unlocked. this at pick up, but i didn't have time anymore to exchange. Gd thing I did only a small number of km.... Not a good experience this time. thks best Sylvain
Bad. After the return of the vehicle they unfairly overcharged me in several ways. Firstly, 4 days of insurance for a 3 day rental. Secondly, a "Premium Station Surcharge" for returning the car exactly where it was planned and known from the beginning (this charge was not mentioned before). Thirdly, a "Fuel Charge" when I just refilled the car before returning it. The person responsible for the return and for checking the car told me that I could go because everything is OK. No one informed of any issue (as fuel, for example). Then they sneakily send an invoice via email with several surcharges, hoping that you don´t notice and complain.
Car very clean. Downgrade from what was promised since Enterprise has an unwritten and unadvertised policy for not renting German car brands out to countries east of Germany despite being in Schengen zone of European Union. PHEV drivertrain was great but unable to charge since the cable provided is compatible with home outlets not the street chargers.

There are a lot of hidden fees and taxes that nobody explains when booking. My booking was made for a total of 106€ and I ended up paying 219€ plus a 250€ deposit that I am not sure when I will get back.
Lost my credit card prior the hand over and since apple pay is absoloutly no option, the transfer of the booking to the cc of my partner was not acceptef. The only option, as you know, was to make a new booking, tripple the price. Worst experience and won‘t book like this again. fyi
