Cancelling the reservation was painful. The instructions said it had to be done by phone. When I phoned the person said why didnt you do it on line, I cant do the cancellation, you’ll have to call a different number at a different time. They were completely unhelpful in trying to change the type of vehicle (this was months in advance of the reservation date). Zero out of ten.Reviewed Aug 19 2024

I feel like this company is a scam. They are trying to charge us for not having a full tank when we filled up at the gas station in their parking lot before turning car in. They also are claiming there are new scratches on the vehicle but again not true and they are refusing to send us pictures and now they will not even respond to emails. Stay away!Reviewed Aug 13 2024

Kayak, you did not inform me that Sixt had a 100 euro fee for after hours pick up which went into affect at 6 pm. That is something you NEED to share when I book a rental with Sixt. I expect to receive reimbursement from Kayak for this mistake.Reviewed Jun 18 2024

Once we learned the facility was about 1/3 mile from the Iceland airport and could not find a Sixt booth or their shuttle at the Iceland airport, we decided to walk to the facility in the rain & wind. Otherwise, the check in & check out process was ok and the vehicle served us well in our travels around Iceland.Reviewed Apr 23 2024

The car we were given was damaged by a previous crash including missing parts, scratches and dents. Part of the underbody started falling off while we were driving on the highway. Sixt admitted to not inspecting the underside of the car but is claiming we are at fault and we should have crawled under the car in the dark and snow at 6am with a flashlight to inspect the underbody at pickup. They then tried to force us to pay 50000 ISK for underbody damage, refusing to give us any breakdown or details. We feel that they are attempting to defraud us and will never use Sixt again.Reviewed Dec 20 2023

I have rented cars in Iceland many times. This experience was considerably better than most. The Sixt attendants were much friendlier and reasonable than other experiences I have had with other rental car agents there.Reviewed Oct 2 2023

I absolutely had no customer service when I had an issue I needed to deal with midway through the rental. I emailed 5 different email addresses with my concern and had to drop it off still unresolved. 2 weeks later they billed me for the parking ticket that I had the proof it was paid.Reviewed Sep 28 2023
