Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: This is not a hotel, nor a bed and breakfast and not even an airbnb type of place. It's a mix and there's the problem. They rent out rooms of an apartment as individual hotel rooms, with common space between all guests. Feels like a dorm. Obviously, one can hear what the neighbors are doing and it can get embarrassing. if you are okay with such a set up, then sure go for it but I as per my research (which I did later), there are plenty more lodging options in Rome for cheaper price ranges. Staff is friendly and the place itself is very clean. However, they do not have staff on the property, so you might have to wait for them to show up if your timing gets changed.
All of Rome is in easy reach from the NH Collection Roma Palazzo Cinquecento, located in the city center. The hotel is located next to Termini Station, Rome’s main transport hub, with bus and Metro links. For shopping, the exclusive boutiques of Via dei Condotti are a short Metro ride away. NH Collection Roma Palazzo Cinquecento offers 177 freshly decorated rooms, with access to the hotel’s private terrace from ground-floor Premium rooms. All rooms have flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi as standard. Try a selection of regional and international cuisine at our restaurant. Every morning the breakfast buffet serves fresh pastries, cold cuts, cheeses and bread, and local specialties like panna cotta. Head to the roof terrace for 360° views of the city, or explore the garden, containing Roman ruins dating back to 6th century BC. There’s also a gym on site that’s free for guests to use. We can host your conference or event in one of our 6 meeting rooms – all with audiovisual equipment available.

Mediocre
3.1
Pros: nothing.
Cons: Staff was not very welcoming and alittle rude during check-in. Room was tiny & worst the bathroom had an exposed shower, water got all over the floor. Wife slipped and fell and almost crack her head on the toilet because of this. With the extra charges for double occupancy, bought total to over 1000 EUR for the three night stay! What a rip-off. I've stay at better hotel for way far less. The area around the hotel is also very ghetto.

Pros: An old hotel that has echoes of "The Grand Budapest Hotel", a faded palace where Verdi once stayed. Steps from Termini station and the A Metro at Republicà, it is an excellent jumping off point for your Roman stay. The staff is extremely friendly.
Cons: The included breakfast is forgettable, though the garden in which it is served is not. Skip it for a cappuccino and corneto at one of Rome's countless Caffè.

Pros: The location was excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious. The people at the reception desk were always helpful. The (included) breakfast was completely amazing. We especially loved going to the garden room restaurant to have a beer in the late afternoon to cool off and rest a bit (they also brought a bowl of peanuts, a bowl of potato chips, and once, a bowl of mixed snacks to go with).
Cons: One night we were too tired to find a local restaurant so we ate in their restaurant. The food was good, but pricier and not as marvelous as the local restaurants off site. But that's in comparison to the fabulous food all over Italy, so its a really high bar.

Pros: The price
Cons: The hotel is in bad shape. Carpet is shabby, paint chipping off walls, etc. I'd stayed at a Eurostar hotel in Munich that was modern, clean and very comfortable and thought the Rome location would be similar since it's a chain...but they seemed like two different companies. That said, it's fine for the budget traveler. Clean room and decent shower, but the whole place from the lobby to the rooms are just much shabbier than they appear online.

Pros: The ease of walking out the hotel and being able to reach each famous landmark/ site with in half an hour at the most (Bar the Vatican) was I thought very convient.
Cons: The contental breakfast wasn't very nice sorry to say... the pasteries were to die for on the other hand though.

Pros: Great location! We could walk to all places we wanted to see in Rome! The hotel was nice, clean and staff was friendly.
Cons: The one thing we did not like was that our double bed was two singles pushed together, which is not uncommon for Europe, but not preferable to us.

Cons: Front desk was variable: the gentlemen who checked us in was lovely, helped find a number of very specific shops we needed (supplì, sporting goods). Other staff were less accommodating. Not a huge crisis as we were only there for a night...but the difference was noticeable even to the kids.
