  • A car hire at Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC), also known as Munich International Airport, is a convenient way to get from the airport to the centre of Munich and beyond. Staff at the counter was outstanding. The car type I reserved was unavailable so it took some extra time to find a solution. We did. The return is fantastic - all rental companies return in a single location and there is no need to wait for a receipt. Things to improve: Directions to the counter, including a clear map, should be added to the reservation. Current information is insufficient. IMPORTANT - an email with a detailed receipt should be sent immediately after returning the car. It wasn't.

Reserved a van for 7 to go snowboarding as confirmed by my confirmation mail, however, only a SUV for 7 was actually reserved. I had to lay the additional cost and the rices of contacting someone from Cust services was a nightmare. Cust services were in Hong Kong and no line manager or anyone with a good grasp of English was able help. Would strongly advise paying the extra for a reputable company!

The pick up lines were long and tedious, even after checking in. Vehicle pick up is a bit far and everything is self checkout now. The vehicle I received was worn and ridden, many small items did not work and were damaged or defective. The interior was very worn. Returning the vehicle took more time than it should have, needed to find a check in person and damage was noted that was with the vehicle at the beginning as I take thorough videos of the vehicle at pick up. I believe the entire process for a company of this caliber and in Europe, should have been more efficient.

Everyone was friendly. It was easy pick up and drop off. It was the second car rental in Germany within two weeks and my other experience with National was NOT good. I will definitely use Europcar again. A consideration would be to have more clarity about insurance. I bought coverage through Expedia, plus I had an additional 75k with my credit card company and I was feeling nervous about that coverage when I really don’t believe I should have. Thank you.

I was quoted $250 for 9 days including all taxes and fees. Actual cost ended up being $350 due to airport and country fees. Renter beware. They also forced me to take the optional fuel charge, which they did wave once I returned the car full. Otherwise my charge would have been near $450.

The rental was quoted at $345. Though I attempted, I wasn't able to purchase the collision protection in advance (quoted at $17/day). I wasn't aware that each additional passenger beyond 1 person was charged an extra fee. There were other undisclosed fees and my total rental ended up being nearly $900. I sent a message to Avis customer service and was told that they would respond in 15-30 business days.

Return process is quite bad. We returned car at 8:55, but it was not processed until 10:20 and thus we were charged an extra day. This was not our responsibility but the company slow processing of returns, still we were charged an extra day we did not use

The charges i saw in Kayak and what Hertz charged me at the site was different. I did pay for CDW at Kayak, however, Hertz asked me to pay that again. It was very confusing. Appreciate if Kayak can advice why i was charged again by Hertz.
