Pros: The Park Plaza Riverbank London is perfectly situated, particularly if you will rely on public transportation to get around London. The hotel is a short walk to the Vauxhall Station, which includes access to National Rail, bus, and the underground (Victoria line). The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very modern. There were illuminated controls on each side of the bed for the lights, plus an electronic method for lighting up a "privacy" or "please clean the room" sign outside the door. The bathroom included both a tub and a (very small, but well-appointed) walk-in shower (which did not leak). The price was excellent for a London hotel. Pros: I loved the location of the hotel!! We didn't realize that our view would be Big Ben, House of Parliment, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye. We were central to many of the attractions which made planning convienent (we only had to walk 5 mins for all of the above attractions and 10 mins for Buckingham Palace). We were also within walking distance to the tube, which was also easy to use:) I also loved the Concierge and Reception. They were all knowledgeable and helpful in assistancing us if needed.

Staff were friendly, price was good, and there was a good mix of travellers.

Pros: The location is excellent (just behind the Tate Museum & the MI-5 HQ, as well as only a couple of minutes away from the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey). Tube stations are 10min.+ away, but the area is well covered by buses. The common spaces look clean and modern and the staff is friendly and polite (but nothing "over the top", though). If you manage to get a good deal, it could be a very affordable hotel in the middle of London. I paid £550 for 5 nights, but a few days before or a few days after my stay and I could've easily paid around £1,200 for the same number of nights in the same period - mid-August.

Pros: We arrived from a 10-hour international flight, and needed to cope with jetlag. V. comfortable suite, particularly liked the floor-to-ceiling windows. Enjoyed dinner at the City Cafe - good choices, including comfort food (soup, etc) after long flight. Bed and bed linens superb, bathroom was spacious and well-fitted for two people to share. Plenty of newspapers in lobby. Two iMacs in the suite for both TV and free internet connection - brilliant and much appreciated. Nice touches of complimentary fruit bowl/wine/water/chocolates in the room, much appreciated again. Taxis seemed permanently available in front of the hotel.
