I specifically sought out to rent a RAV4 because I am thinking about buying one in the future. I got a confirmation that a Rav would be available when I went to pick up my rental. I was told they only had a few cars left at Budget. I told then confirmation number and basically got a shrug from the desk clerk. I got a a different vehicle instead. The back seat wasn’t clean and front area wasn’t wiped down very well either. Why if they know people have reservations, wasn’t there enough cars in the lot to accommodate? I doubt I’ll rent from Budget again. Kayak also let me down.

Waited one hour and 45 minutes for car to be available. Then key fob did not work. Finally, two hours later received a downgrade because it was the only vehicle available but was charged the same. Will never deal with Budget again!

I rented a car with budget through Kayak. I picked the car up at GSP airport. The car itself was fine except it had a crack in the windshield upon pick up. The man at the pickup counter was nice and had me out the door faster than i'ver experienced with a rental car company. Now I see the HORRIBLE mistake with this. I arranged to drop the car off at the Atlanta airport, and when I arrived to the budget drop off they could not find my reservation in the system. He told me to take it to avis, that is was an avis rental. (Nope, its definitely a budget rental). I go to Avis and they say "no this is a budget rental, we can't take it". So I tell them the guy over there wont take it either and directed me here. I was then prompted to an empty counter, and I had to track down an employee to help. About 2 hours later I finally spoke with who I presume is a manger, and she could not help me other than to accept the car back into the companies inventory (Avis and Budget are apparently the same company). As it turns out, the man at GSP did not close out the rental on their end. I was directed to call the GSP airport back and speak with them to have them close it. I cannot get ahold of anyone at GSP or anywhere in customer service to resolve this issue. I have no clue what to do from here. No one will get back to me. This has been a horrible experience and I will never be renting from them again.

I rented through Priceline and was given a $219 total with taxes and fees. At the counter I added LDW for $35 a day for 2 days. (because I’ve been accused of rock chip in a windshield that almost cost me $1300.) First car I received had very bald tires. As in no tread lines at all on the inside bald. And they were cupped badly. I had to return that one and get another, which put me behind an hour on our trip. They said the printer was not working, so I was given no paperwork for the car. Returning the car I told them I filled it up less than a 1/4 mile away and had a picture on my phone of the dash with mileage and a full tank. I asked for a total price and was told $302. Again no paper receipt was given but they emailed it to me. However, I was in a parking garage and couldn’t get it on my phone. About 10 minutes after leaving the airport I checked my email and was billed $352. They added a fuel charge. Even though I specifically told them it was full. So I then check my credit card statement to see the charges and I had 3 pending for $419 each. $1258 and some change. I’ve had to call Budget/ Avis with gas receipt info to get this sorted out. Still waiting to see if that actually went through. My warning is take MANY pictures before and after renting. I should have stuck around and waited for the emailed receipt to come through and had them take a picture of their computer screen with my phone. I feel this is normal practice for them, so next time I’ll try a different agency. Good luck!

Just my opinion That you should be made more clear, it was their choice of vehicle. I thought I was getting one car and I ended up with it entirely different car. I did receive with OK, there is nothing wrong with it but it wasn't what I originally intended to rent. I did email customer service and they explained I rented a premium vehicle and what I got is a premium be vehicle.

Pros:

The staff was as friendly and suggested another spot. However didn’t offer any help beyond that. Tough spot to be in and would expect more.

Cons:

When I arrived they tried to scan my drivers license but the back side of it was worn out so scanner couldn’t read it. I had to go to hertz and pay double.

Pros:

Pick-up a nightmare!! One person manning desk and he was completely overwhelmed/ill equipped to handle the 8 of us who exited shuttle at same time. Ironically, there was a car convention going on. A complete lack of planning by corporate! And, the pick-up trucks, the cheapest, had just arrived THAT day and the lone employee had to literally remove the plastic, connect antenna, etc, which doubled reservation time. Will never use Dollar again. They are cheap for a reason.

I was glad to get an upgrade to a truck because I really ended up needing it! It also snowed the last day I was in town so it made me feel more secure while driving. The Dodge Ram was incredibly nice inside and out. The staff that rented it to me and received it back were super-friendly and efficient.

The service from the staff was wonderful. The shuttle driver was especially helpful, checking us in and getting us to the terminal quickly when we were running late.

Cons:

The office is seriously understaffed. One clerk at the counter was multitasking as well as she could but there could have been more staff to make everything run more smoothly.

Pros:

I changed my arrival time to a small airport from noon to midnight and the office remained open until my flight arrived and I picked up my baggage. I think it was last flight of the evening for the airport and the desk stayed open beyond normal closing time.

Cons:

I thought upcharge for second driver was somewhat steep.

If you aren't flying in, you do have to park overnight in airport parking (which costs money). The process is easy though, and there is a shuttle.

The car was supposed to be a Toyota Corolla or similar but was a mini van. The counter person said the car had 16000 miles and was in perfect condition. The car had 19000 miles on, had obviously been in a wreck, and was not clean. I’ve never had an experience like that renting a vehicle before. It was a Hertz office not a straight up Thrifty.

There was no shuttle when we arrived a Greenville Spartanburg airport. As it turned out they had given our car away and had none left. They did not contact us at all. We were not the only people left stranded at the airport at 11:00pm by Thrifty.

I ordered a passenger vehicle. I will as given a new truck. It was a very nice truck but it was a very big step up to get into the truck. My problem is that I have arthritis in my hips and this becomes painful

Staff was great. Was very busy and still kept a sense of humor. We were running late for the airport, as usual, and they got us onto the shuttle and to the airport quickly.

I rented a 7 passenger minivan for a trip. When I picked up the vehicle it was totally filthy. Due to a time constraint I did not have the time to return it right away. I ended up vacuuming and cleaning the seats myself so as not to have to sit in a dirty vehicle with stains on the upholstery .

Car drove nicely and was fairly new; rental agent was very friendly and helpful at GSP.

Cons:

Car was not cleaned; it had trash from the previous renter, and the previous renter's contract, inside. Outside was dirty.

The agent gave me three choices and recommended the Ford Focus Hybrid. Good car and great gas mileage. Drove from from Greenville/Spartanburg airport to Black Mountain, NC and locally in BM over the weekend and back to the airport on Sunday. Only used $10 of as. Plus the price for the rental could not be beat.

Cons:

There was a dent in the passenger door and after walking to the car, I had to walk back to the ticket punter to let them know.

Car was clean, price was good, no problems what so ever. When i returned the car at the terminal, i needed a ride to Stevens Aviation, about a mile away. The people at Enterprise took care of getting me there. Excellent service.
