The vehicle worked perfectly for my family. We paid for a mid-size SUV and got a slight upgrade. The upgrade was comfortable and easy to use. First time using Alamo and it was a pretty seamless experience. Drop-off was fast.Cons:

Visalia ENTERPRISE location. The 12 passenger van reserved over the phone was NOT available upon arrival. Offered a 15 passenger farm-labor like van with no head-rests for a 26h trip to Texas. Finally settled for a 15 seater with no room for luggage and a 20% discount (took me 1.5h). How could a reservation be made with no vehicle in stock? Three other 12 seaters were booked for someone else in 3 days, but I would be left hanging today. Must have been more important or corporate customer...Payless

The cars were all extremely dirty. I even had to change cars twice because they had a strange animal pee smell and hair everywhere. Idk why these were considered to be good to rent out? Then I take a car and half way to my very short destination the car says to change the oil!! It started shaking. I was worried so I rented another while at my vacation spot. Was sad but whatever I guess. Just won’t be using the avis/Payless/budget rentals again..Budget

I was told at the counter that the rate that I had booked at was $100 more. I showed them my booking confirmation and the rate but was told that this was not enough for them to make the adjustment. I was then told to prove to them what the weekly rate was. So I walked over to Alamo car rental and booked instead. Dollar rental didn’t seem like they wanted my business so I went elsewhere.Cons:

The reservation process was easy. The SUV was clean, and pick up was fast and easy. The employees at the counter inside the airport were friendly and expedient. I did have to walk back inside the airport to the desk to return it, but other than that, the return process was smooth, quick, and friendly.Cons:
The reservation and service was great, though the price was a bit steep. It was a last-minute reservation; however, so that is just how it is. I didn't like some of the features of the SUV. The high beams flickered on and off at will while we were navigating curvy mountain roads in the dark. I did NOT enjoy this. The suspension wasn't as smooth, nor the handling as tight as the Jeep Cherokee we rented the following weekend from a different company.10.0 Wonderful

Pick up was not good. I was told that I couldn't use my company credit card that I used to book the reservation online because my first name on the card was different than my driver's license (it is my nickname on the credit card). This was the first time in 20 years it has ever been a problem and the rep asked me if it was the first time I rented from Thrifty because this is how the system works. I didn't really appreciate that as an answer. She then says when I come back she can switch the credit cards. I asked her why she didn't lead with that at the beginning of the conversation versus quoting me company policy. Another concern was insurance coverage (company versus personal based on the credit card on file). The drop off was a little better. The line was really long and nowhere does it say you have to stay in line to drop off. Luckily I asked because I was in a hurry (and didn't have to wait in line). The issue here was switching the credit cards which would require me to wait in line. The rep said to write my email down and they would send the final receipt later in the day. I did not receive the email as promised. I called two days later and finally received the second part of the bill (first part on my company credit card, second part on my personal credit card). The experience with Thrifty was OK at best. I'll likely choose a different rental car company in the future. Thank you.10.0 Wonderful
