I got a hot deal car, so my expectations were extremely low, and still the car did not live up. I got an ugly blue Chevy Spark. The car was TINY, both front to back and side to side - I've been in go-carts with more room. I'm not even 6' tall, and I barely fit. My brother and I literally couldn't fit in this car together at the same time. This was bad enough, but what I paid per day was nearly twice what I've paid for a Mercedes or BMW in the past. Sadly this was still the best experience I've had renting a car in Ft. Wayne. Somehow compacts have moved up to midsized status (e.g. Rav4), and prices have still gone up. This whole mess has made me less likely to rent a car, less likely to fly, less likely to travel as a whole.7.6 Good

When we picked up the car it was only half full of gas. We also we're not able to rent car seats for our twin two year olds. The counter person was pleasant but less than helpful. When we returned the car the counter person was awesome. I wish car seat rental options were available when reserving the vehicle.10.0 Wonderful

I made my reservation, received my confirmation. I go to pick up the car, stand in line for 30 minutes, only to be told they don't have any cars! I was told i would be getting a SUV of the size approximate to Grand Cherokee. I recieved a small SUV ( equinox) that was NOT awd or 4x4 which is what i was needing ( trip north.) When i arrived they didnt have that vehicle ready and i had to wait over an hour to get my vehicle, making me late.6.8 Okay

we didn't get the car, they accepted our Visa/debit card for the reservation, however, after driving 35 miles out of our way to the airport to pickup in our motor home & showing multiple ID, including Cash, they don't accept cash nor debit card ! We have credit card, forgot to bring new one in wallet, we had the expired one. This is not stated on their website anywhere, since when is cash or Debit/ Visa not good? It isn't like they cannot obtain $ instantly, nor bill for more. Very frustrating. will never rent from them again !10.0 Wonderful

I liked that the Nissan Sentra had electronic seats so that they could be adjusted since I am petite. Staff was very nice and accommodating.Cons:
I originally scheduled to get a pick-up truck (NEW Nissan Titan) which they had however, it only had manual adjusting seats so I could not adjust it for my size; could not see over the dash! The truck did not have a bed liner which should be standard on the vehicle.10.0 Wonderful

Car was clean and nice. Drove well and met our need abundantly. During our trip it became clear that a different drop off point of about 7 miles (in an already one way trip) would make a huge difference, saving us much time and expense and managers at both ends were willing to work with us.Cons:
An employee at the originating store couldn't have been more uninterested in helping with our situation, totally apathetic. It sounded like she was maybe even doing her nails as she spoke to us, meanwhile we are driving on an interstate towards our destinations on unfamiliar roads, at night, after 10 hours of driving that day. I have rented a car with my bank credit/debit card for the last 3 years...Unbeknownst to me they now require a major credit card which I didn't find out until I was at the counter. If this was disclosed prior I could have made other arrangements. Instead I was totally left on the day we were leaving without a car. I will never use ThriftyHertz

I was told at the fort wayne airport if i got gas thru them the charge of $30 would be pro rated in South bend based on what i used Well SB they said no no no we dont take off $ amount based on usage when all i used was a 1/4 tank so what the original fee was $68 turned out to be $122.72 also the drop off in SB was a nightmare to just to find it and parking lot dark and i had to find someone in lot to help me. finally found a guy n then he was of very little help9.6 Wonderful

I arrived to retrieve my rental. I gave the customer service rep my reservation and a copy of my insurance cards. I was then told he needed a $200 deposit on the car. I offered the very same card I purchased the rental with. He would not accept it. I told him I could give him $200 cash if that was better. He wouldn't accept that either. I brought my mother's card in, who was sitting in her car, and he wouldn't accept that either. As I should have been leaving town, I was trying to find another rental on a Friday morning for the weekend. Kayak had no problem taking the money from my account immediately. Hertz had no problem taking the money from Kayak. HOWEVER, NO ONE wanted to help me get the rental I already paid for, refund my money, or pick up the phone. I am 40 years old with a clean driving record, current insurance, and the required $200, there is no reason I shouldn't have been able to get the rental. I got to my destination with 10 minutes to spare as opposed to the hour and a half I had planned. This whole situation was poorly handled and customer service is a loss on both these companies.9.2 Wonderful
