Bad
was moved to Raddison Blu.... profanity on bath room mirrors ... disturbing!
Exceptional
They were closed because of COVID-19 so they contacted me to relocate me to the Novotel for the same price. Their customer service was quick and efficient.
The pool was closed because of COVID-19 and the other two hotels I stayed at that week had open pools.
Hotel became a HOMELESS SHELTER 4 months before we arrived on its door steps (our booking was mid AUG 2020) wth luggage in tow after walking from the nearby train station. I book chain hotels 99% of time &only booked this because of location.
Location is convenient and it is well kept.
Didn't find much wrong with it.
Superb

Location to union station was super handy. Also the staff on the front desk were very friendly and very helpful.

Very central to everything we wanted to do...super friendly desk clerk upon arrival

Very central to everything we wanted to do...super friendly desk clerk upon arrival
Staff was really friendly
Room was smaller than expected
Very affordable, excellent location, rooms were purely functional which was all I needed. The bed was comfortable.
Breakfast seems a bit expensive. I could have used a chair in my hotel room.
Excellent location, walkable to everything downtown
Expensive, considering the size of the room
The location is amazing, staff is excellent, lady at check in Zalekha was professional, very helpful and dealt in an excellent manner
Price in comparison to the room size and the amenities in hotel is high
Location was great. Staff super friendly. Great deal. Clean and Comfortable.
Noise carried from other rooms/pipes.
Yes breakfast was good. Egg omelette was a tad dry. Comfy room. Thank you. Vicki
Super close to Scotibank arena for our plans. The hotel was beautiful, staff was friendly and helpful and the pub downstairs was awesome!
Room was a little small but clean and comfortable.
Clean and friendly. Walking distance to everything we were doing.
Rooms might be a bit small if you have a family.
Great location...friendly check in...lots of amenities
Bed was a little hard for my liking but would probably be good for others..
To be fair to the hotel I was only looking for a resonable room withing walking distance of Union Station for one night. I didn't sample any of their other facilities or services. For my purposes it was perfect and the booking, checking in and checking out processes went smoothly.
Nothing much to dislike here but if pressed I'd say something about the interior design being firmly from the corporate blandness school, but I'd much rather they get other things right first, like cleanliness and comfort, which they do.
The location is fantastic for events downtown. The room was clean and the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Parking can be a pain but we parked under Roy Thomson hall and paid $50 for the weekend.
Location
No place to unload at front door. I had phoned ahead and was informed there was valet parking but I wasn’t told it started at 2:00. We had to park in City Parking walk up 2 flights of stairs with luggage then walk to the hotel.
The location is the best part of this hotel. It was a cheap price and it gave us a clean room.
We got locked out of our room because our key cards suddenly didn't work anymore, and that was a bit of a pain. We also talked to other residents who were having the same problem. Perhaps this is something they should look to improve.
It was so close to scotiabank and we were pleasantly surprised! It was clean and staff were friendly. I would definitely stay here again when in toronto next.
I’ve stayed here multiple times. This is one of the best hotels in downtown Toronto. Great location, sure, but the staff is always wonderful, the rooms are always clean and comfortable , and the prices are fair. Strathcona will continue to be my #1 choice.
Breakfast, excellent!
Parking should be reduced
Really nice hotel right by Union Station. It's about a five minute walk. I also recommend the pub which belongs to the hotel.
Loved the location, for our purposes. The breakfast was exceptional!
Floor areas, corners, could be cleaner
Excellent location near Union Station and Roy Thompson Hall. Clean, good size for one person. Easy to find and shopping nearby. Price was very good.
No problems at all.
I was double charged!.
The breakfast was exceptional. The staff very pleasant. Very clean, modern and simple.
The very slow elevator service. Being rectified??
Close to the scotia bank arena which our entertainment was being held at.
I thought the view out of our room window would have been nicer than a brick wall. I also thought the rooms were going to be A LOt bigger. The rooms were like outdated run down air b and b
Great location, clean, comfortable room.
nothing
Close to Union Station.
The location close to the subway and the Porter shuttle was extremely beneficial for us. The rooms were a little small, but perfect for a one or two night stay. Very clean! The pub and breakfast restaurant being right inside the hotel was great too
Great location. Porter Airlines shuttle across street. Subway station very close. Ie Union a Station Will book again
Rooms are small but I didn’t mind. As the rooms are very modern, Clean & well appointed.
Right by Union Station. Good healthy variety of breakfast foods—small sizes in the buffet which means you can enjoy a little bit of everything. Staff were flexible, accommodating and welcoming. Quiet and safe!
Great little hotel for the price. Rooms are basic but very reasonably priced for the location. The room was very clean and the room at the back was very quiet at night. Perfect place to stay if you’re going to an event at Scotiabank arena.

Quiet Clean & Comfortable good location.
Great location for all activities at great price.
Great price and location. Good food at the pub. Small but comfortable rooms.
Small rooms. Wallpaper by shower was mouldy and peeling.
I asked for an upgrade if they had a s did not have to pay, very kind of them to do this. Staff was friendly and polite
I liked all
Close to everything and Scotia Bank Arena
It was fine no issues
Perfect location. Friendly staff and an excellent room. Room was just the right size for a weekend away
The design and breakfast space looks SO gorgeous! Room service is super fast and good priced. Everyone was super nice and welcoming! I also had opportunity to leave my luggage after the check out which was super important for me. Thank you guys so much ♥️
Everything was good!
great location,
Loved the location. Lobby very comfortable.
Found the room very small and bathroom tiny. Would have been nice to have chair in the room.
The upgrade to the suite room
The shower could of been better pressure
Location was great. Staff helpful Clean
Location, cleanliness
Sound isolation
Localization, food - I had breakfast - really nice, very clean room.
The room is not so spacious as it appears in the pictures.

nothing
Very good location for our planned activities. Excellent hot breakfast. Welcoming, pleasant staff. Very comfortable bed. Could easily walk to everything we planned to do.
Room very small, but OK for one night. Our room was on York St., across from a major construction site where activities began at 6:30 am! Try to avoid that unless you are an early riser.
Location
My ac didn’t work the entire time being there. Maintenance came on more than one occasion but it still wasn’t fix. Gave up because their only response were...let me send someone or I’ll let the manager know.
Location was great, you can get to most places and sights on foot. Personnel was very open, helpful and nice.
Heating systems blows hot air into one's face, when you lay on the bad. Couldn't get used to it
Value for money and location.
Perfect location. Central to everywhere you want go. 15 minutes tops walking in any direction.
Nothing
Hotel was so close to union station and the PATH system.
Rooms were very tight and dingy (no proper lighting). Rooms weren’t finished properly and weren’t cleaned either.
No breakfast available.New Years holiday
It was an outstanding experience with this hotel,

Everything
No complaints really
Friendly staff, ocation, value for money, cleanliness.
Quick check in - quick check out fantastic breakfast
Excellent staff at the front desk who were very accommodating and helpful. Friendly housekeeper who let me into my room when the key stopped working, and the location right by Union Station is fantastic.
The bathroom was a bit small, but did the job. I turned off the air con system and my room got very cold in the night, so I had to switch it back on, which was a bit noisy.
Best location. Nice decor. Quality toiletries provided.
Thin walls, can hear the people next door, the people upstairs and out the door. Pillows were too thick and uncomfortable. Bathroom was cold, no heater.
Location
Windows not sound proof
The location was perfect, The facilities and staff were above par. Will definitely be returning.
The Location.
Upon arrival, I was back of a line of complaints about room noise and people wanting to move rooms, on check-in and entering the room, we where disappointed to find out our wind faced a concrete wall, this should of been mentioned on the description on booking. Talking about the description it mentioned iPod connectivity, this will only work with very old 30 pin iPod connector. The room also had year old location magazine in the room and an out dated hotel information folder stating breakfasts where $13.95 but on check-in it was advised it was $19.95. The room was small and very dark, lights had to be used during day light. Also notice a very random curtain hanging in the corner for no reason. Health and Safety side of things shower was over a bath, you had to request a none slip bath map, these should be in the room permanently.
close to union station which was great.
Small room and toilet had plumbing issues
Location Staff
The bed was horrible. Floor boards had gaps.
This hotel pleasantly surprised us in many ways. It started with check in where the four of us (my wife & I plus our teenage daughters) were upgraded to a room with two queen-sized beds. The room was basic, but clean, quiet and comfortable. There was a fridge in the room that we weren’t expecting. The breakfast buffet had, in addition to the usual fare (breads, cereals sausages, etc.), many interesting and tasty things, such as a chickpea salad, a warm kale and mushroom dish, small French toast slices with fruit topping, smoothies and homemade fruit & yogurt cups. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. And of course, the location is unbeatable; walking distance to most everything, depending on how active you are.
Although it was 18 degrees below zero outside, we found the room a little too warm, but could open the window and turn off the heater.
Very clean hotel with lovely staff. Location perfect, right across from union station. Only downside is the room was small but didn't bother me really as the bed was comfy and super clean.
Small room
breakfast was great
price
The location to ACC.
The room was small.
It was the perfect location for the places we wanted to see eg. CN tower and aquarium and also the Niagara Falls tour left from this hotel.
The rooms are pretty small, you can hear people in the next room and above. The staff member who we approached when booking in was fairly rude and you could see she didn’t want to be there. All in all I wouldn’t be coming back
Location and cleanliness
The rooms are about the size of my closet. The cleaners still come into your room when you hang the privacy door hanger.
Location and convienance
One of cannot use elevators the stair way system was very confusing and not explained well by staff
this hotel is right downtown 3 minutes away from union station.
My room was very small. barely room to open my suitecase on the bench. There is nowhere to sit really and have coffee or eat except on the bed which is not comfortable. It gets very noisy at night since it is by the scotia arena. The windowsare not well insulated so not only do we hear the street noise, it gets cold so the heater starts every 20 minutes.
Beds were comfortable, staff were friendly, amazing location.
There wasn't any fans in the bathroom or counter space (girls need counter space). Room was dark and felt a bit gloomy.
The location was excellent.
The heating was difficult to regulate. It was too hot but if you turned it down it blew cold air.
Location was great. Front desk staff were fabulous.
Bed was squeaky.
Everything was ok
Having to pay $22.50 for breakfast. A rip off!
breakfast was unique and delicious. Service was fantastic, Tatiana was very friendly, as was other staff. Bed was extremely comfortable, more so than home. Tiffany and Rubiuo were very pleasant, helpful and kind. Within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. All staff always greeted us with a smile.
Doors were thin and we could hear fighting in the hall and doors slamming very late at night. No view from the window, just the side of another building, but that's minor since we weren't in the room much.
The front desk staff were great and the pub was also excellent! The room was clean and comfortable and the stay was great.
Nothing
We came to the Strathcona hotel for a short stay as we had an overnight layover in Toronto. The hotel is kitty corner from Union Station where we caught the train from the airport, and it could not have been easier to get there. We were greeted with very helpful and friendly staff at the front desk. The room was small but perfect for the two of us. The bed was really comfortable. Loved the smell of the provided Bigelow shampoo/lotion!
The bathroom had a bit of dust but it wasn't that bad.
Comfy bed and you can't beat the location as it is right across the street from Union Station. Also the front desk staff are very nice.
- Long lines to check in/out. - TV system does not let you easily flip between local channels. - Very thin bed cover (might as well had been just a sheet). Had to turn thermostat way up to stay warm (it being winter and all).
Location was excellent for our visit. Value for our dollars was outstanding. Friendliness of staff and efficiency of check-in was great.
The cost of the buffet breakfast was excessive and, as a result, we ate somewhere else.
Comfy bed
Nothing
I lost my luggage ticket. The front desk was understanding and allowed me to describe the contents and still make my train.
Very very clean . Its the best hotel that i have stay in toronto .
Nothing
Friendly staff, excellent location, very clean.
Clean hotel, friendly and attentive staff. Great location!
Service at front counter was exceptional (Walid) was super accomodating. All staff were extremely friendly - everyone said hello as you walked by. Great place if you just need a place to rest your head and central in Toronto. The price was on par with what you get for Toronto (paid $130 for a room with 2 single beds).
The room was very dusty - looked like no one had been in it for awhile. Also - heads up that the walls are thin, so earplugs are a must (like a lot of hotels).
Perfect location. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Very nice breakfast.
Thin walls, thus very noisy. If someone uses the hair dryer, you think the person stands next to you, but the person is in another room. Wooden floors are nice unless all ladies in the other rooms decide to wear high heels for 2h in the room. Then the wooden floor is not such a good idea.
Location
No map of surrounding area to give us to help navigate the city. Lack of knowledge on things to do near hotel.
Good location, near Union main train station.
Room with double queen size bed, it is very small for 4 adults
Couldn’t wish for a better location. Nice reception area, staff were lovely. I was allowed a later checkout, which was appreciated.
The door to the room was very flimsy, with gaps all around it. I was woken up several times by people using the lift, or talking in the corridor and I could smell the perfume of someone walking past. The room was very small, and while there was a window, this looked out onto a wall and it didn’t open. There was never any natural light in the room. It also didn’t feel particularly clean - hairs here and there, and there was a big clump of hair (likely removed from the shower) in the toilet when I arrived.
Location
Bed was terrible
Close to everything and very helpful staff. Very clean and confortable.
All good
elevator was quick, people were friendly, food offered was fresh and tasty, very clean
The bedroom is cosy and the localization is great. The checkout was accomplished for a girl that was very nice. She perceived my difficulty with the Language and did everything more easy.
The value is a lot expensive. During the check-in, I perceived that the recepcionist was upset cos' I am not fluent in English and he was not nice but after he helped us.
Bad experiences. Smoke was coming in through the air conditioner. I was inhaling the smoke. I got headache.
substandard room. bad smoke from outside.
Awesome location, stylish common areas, very safe at all times of day/night. Staff were pretty accommodating, the room was very clean and the bed was not amazing but comfy and sturdy.
The rooms are pretty dark and the forced coverings were annoying. While I was facing a back alley and other rooms of the hotel, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the window covers as much as I want. Would have added natural light and air to the room.
The front desk demonstrated the epitome of hospitality and helpfulness. Staff in the Dining room were particularly accommodating and professional. The hotel employee in housekeeping was also most helpful.
No.
We liked the location being near all the place we liked.
We didn't feel the restaurant mer our liking with seating bring so close to each other. We didn't get the privacy we wanted. The pub was fantastic .
Great location, clean and comfortable, great breakfast. Just a bit noisy poor insulation you can hear plumbing ie people taking their showers but overall a good place
Location and price.
Close to concert venue and train station
Construction on the floor was noisy in the evening
Downtown close to transit and citywide
Noisy at times. Windows looked right into windows of other customers. Old fashion needs some updating, no USB ports in room. Complicated alarm clock
Location, Strath Pub in basement, friendly staff, upgraded room
Nope
6th visit, location is great
Cost was a little higher than the past.
Close to everything.
The staff was friendly, helpful, and responsive. The room was very clean. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy.
Hotel is located in a high traffic area. The bathroom was small, and the ironing board was stored behind the bathroom door making the door opening smaller. I kept running into the doorknob. Breakfast in the lobby was not free with the room reservation.
When checking in the staff was incredibly friendly and so sweet. The location is great! Very close to the train station and close to many restaurants and tourist locations around Toronto. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Toronto!
Nothing!
It's proximity to the function we were attending and the area in which walking distance restaurants were available.
No fan in the bathroom. Room was extremely small for --- with NO Amenities.
The front desk employee
No
Location
Room was small. No refrigerator.
Good location and staff are kind.
The breakfast is expensive for me.
This hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk to all of our destinations. It was extremely clean. Great shower and toiletries. Bed was very comfortable. I got a great night's sleep. Would definitely stay here again!
Location.
Great location: Great Breakfast NIC but worth price. Very nice staff.
No
Friendly staff
Its no frills, clean. Decor is basic wood but it felt clean. The beds are hard as a rock. I had back pain the whole next day.
Well located, affordable, comfortable and very clean.
The staff did not know where the closest pedestrian entrance to next door's public parking was. Sound insulation with the adjacent room's bathroom was not insufficient. No physical space / accommodations to work on one's laptop.
The staff was very nice and professional. The location was really good, close to most amenities.
The vibe of the place is off because it is dark and the rooms are so, so small. The pictures of the room on this site are nice, but in all actuality, the rooms were too small for comfort. We didn’t even stay at this hotel for longer than an hour because the room wasn’t comfortable. There were windows, but facing inward and dark.
The location, the price for a solo person
When I came into my room the alarm was going off and the closet light was on. Made me think I was in someones room! Not a big deal though.
Location was great
small rooms but they were functional
Location
all was good
Close to a lot of cool things. Staff was great and friendly.
No parking. Ended up paying 70$ for two days in a near by lot
Cleanliness comfortable well arranged good towels and an excellent location
Room too small for a chair
the hotel was clean and staff were friendly. amazing location
the room was cold a little bit and I woke up 2 times to adjust the temperature by thermostat but every time it failed to reach the desired temperature.
Excellent location. We took the UP Express from the airport and it was great.
Room is small but great value.
Seating in lobby, central location
clean room
nothing, but the front lobby can use some updating
Location was great
Room was the smallest I've ever seen. Mysterious stains on bed.
Clean, central, classy enough for a tiny hotel
Thin walls
The hotel location was fabulous, an easy walk to union station. The staff were helpful, the lobby neat and modern. Though we didnt use the restaurant, it was open for breakfast and lunch. The bed was comfortable and the evening quiet.
The room was definitely small but functional.
Proximity to train station
The room was super small and poor value for the price. I
Its location
The room was tiny even with a deluxe room
Location Price point Availability Friendly staff No carpets Amenities -- hair dryer, ironing board, soap, shampoo and conditioner in shower, etc.
Some dust on coffee maker and tray as well as the "counter" they were on -- not just collected that day - could have been room wasn't used for a few days, tho
tidy, close to everything & the guy at the front desk was wonderful.
The room is very small and outdated bubbled wallpaper and old phone/technology
Very centrally located and a few steps from union station. Very clean
Pillows remain too hard
Small rooms, bathroom smelled like grime upon arrival.
Location was perfect for our needs. Quiet. Clean. Comfortable.
Parking info wasn't specific enough. Didn't mention that they have valet parking available, which would have been cheaper than the what I paid at one of the lots they mentioned.
very close to all atractions
everything was good
Clean room and a convenient location. The room was the perfect size for one or two people. Reminded me of places I have stayed in Europe...cozy. The small room had everything I needed. It was clean, warm, and comfortable.
Lack of parking and expensive valet service. I was told the valet was $44, and the adjacent parking garage was about $40 and full. No street parking nearby & only one garage I found was 24/7. It was an easy 10 min walk and only $20.
Price and location. Front desk staff very helpful.
Very nice staff. Very well located.
One of our towel had a stain on it. There was no real comfy duvet over the bedsheets, we had to boost the heat up.
Minimalist and efficient, my room brought a sense of calm stepping inside. Very clean with all ammenities includiing a mini fridge under one nightstand. Only 400m from Union station, location is fantastic close to all major attractions & downtown events.
The blanket provided was very thin. Lucklily room temperature was easily modified, but a better bed blanket would have made sleeping better.
Location neer the Union station Confort of the bed
Not really
The staff was very accommodating and the hotel was very clean
The room we had with two single beds was very small and the beds are short. I am 5 5 and my feet hung out.
Location No carpet in room
Location, room size, quietness
Staff friendly. Clean rooms
The room was noisy. Laminate floors mean noise from above due to inadequate noise insulation. Plumbing was noisy in our own room and from others.
Location
DD beds need upgrade
Clean, comfortable rooms
Location
No
Fabulous location and nice lobby. Had all the stuff we needed.
Rooms a bit dated.
Nothing
I don't know. I never attempt there
Clean room, great shower, friendly desk staff. Can not beat the location
Room very small- not even a table or chair. Pillows too thick and hard, all 4 pillows the same. Air conditioning fan only went low or high and both were blowing in the face of the person sleeping beside the unit. Street noise loud in room.
Central location.
It's location was the best, at just a block from Union Station, and the breakfast they served in the morning was very good.
Lobby was very nice, rooms were well-ish decorated, really small, but mostly comfortable. My recommendation is that if you're used to Marriotts and Hiltons, the rooms here will disappoint you. But I guess that's what star ratings are for!
Nicely furnished room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good continental breakfast at a reasonable price.
Nothing!
Great location, great price and great staff.
The only thing I can complain about is getting two single beds, especially coming to this hotel as a couple. We called and asked what a standard room was and they didn't mention it was 2 single beds but we just put them tofether anyways! No big deal
Location and very nice hotel
The location was alright.
Amenities listed are on request only. Requested refrigerator for sons medication, which took hours to get to temperature. Coffee stains on tables. Room smelled horrible. Checked out without spending night. Valet service took an hour to bring car around.
Location
Breakfast and parking were not included, which for the price including at least one would be nice. We went to go to the bar below, the sign said closed at 12. It was just after 11 and it was all closed up for the night.
Felt like a dorm room
Clean nice and bed was comfortable
Room was very very small no chairs and could barely move around
Location, cleanliness and staff
Very small room.
Location
The bathroom fan didn't seem to work; small room.
Location Cleanliness
Service was slow including vip Buggies not available Flooding on one floor
Location.
Room was not as clean as previous times. Odd door in room at arrival. Heavy cigarette (stale) door in middle of the night.
Location and cleanliness
No fridge
Very convenient location
The room was a little smaller than I expected, but it was as advertised (one queen bed) and we were in Toronto to see the sites, not to spend abundant time in the room.
The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean. The price was reasonable.
The decor is a little dated.
I love how it is in downtown Toronto. It's close to all the attractions.
The only two issues I had: 1. the tv was kinda old (which really didn't matter). 2. The sounds travel outside the room even with the door closed. I can hear people speaking/laughing and playing music from inside their closed door rooms.
Location
The hotel couldn't find our reservation. The door to our room didn't close and open very well. Small room. The view into a back ally way looking at another side of the building wasn't very pleasing.
The location is very convenient as well after check out we kept our luggage there without extra charges.
The 2 single bedroom is super small, bathroom doesn't have a proper mist extractor no even body wash soup, the coffee maker is just a nightmare to use it, the front desk is OK but could improve its services.
Great location, good value, but small rooms
The hotel is located very close to all the downtown venues and Union Station for easy access. It is good value for money, but it is definitely a budget hotel, no frills. Kept very clean, and was adequate for a business stay by myself, but small size of room and lack of amenities would mean I wouldn't bring my family back.
Rooms are very clean and well kept, with nice white linens, but TINY. Almost brought me back to my university days, the rooms have a dorm room feel about them.
Location
Very small room. The air conditioner and thermostat in the room was broken.
Location, comfy bed.
Quiet
Extremely small. Felt like we were being sent to the basement
Location
Room very small, Very little clothes hanging space. No chest of drawers or safe. No curtains, just shutters. Hard to get a decent nights sleep. Poor value for money.
Cleanliness and proximity to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre AND the downtown core. I loved the fact that there was a pub in the hotel.
The rooms were small, but I knew that. The building is old, but It was clean and EVERYTHING else was wonderful.
My go to Toronto
Everything. Friendly clean.
Prepaid then charged my account. Still waiting for it back.
Location and underground parking right next door. Very convenient. Staff were welcoming. Room size is small but great for a short stay. A great find in downtown TO considering other pricier options.
TV signal was VHS tape quality - inexplicably bad for a hotel at this price level and location!
Great value for money considering downtown location. Clean. Efficient check in and given a room upgrade.
Room is a bit small but adequate.
Modern fresh look
Location to sights and entertainment.
Bathroom very small for couple.
nothing
Room was like a box not at all like the picture in their web site
Terrific location
The room was very very small, and the bed was a single and very uncomfortable. Very loud air conditioning.
Staff was friendly
Tiniest room I have ever gotten at a hotel. They charge extra for Wi-Fi, I typically expect that to be a free service these days. Bathtub was dirty.
Location
Small rooms....soap and shampoo dispensers are not guest friendly.
Downtown location
Booked a room with two double beds, checked in and given a room with only one bed, then told that there were no other rooms available and that even though we'd booked a room with two doubles on Kayak they wouldn't honor it because they only guarantee room type when booked on their website. The hotel was also incredibly noisy - we could hear every little thing on our floor all night.
Comfortable and great location
The overall hotel was cute and small. It was a great location to everything. We didnt have a car and it was close enough to walk, uber, or use the train to get to most of the thigs we wanted to do and see.
The rooms were small. I wish there were higher floors with more of a city view. Also the tv was in a awkward location to watch. Breakfast was not included, which would have been nice since we stayed for so long.
the rooms are very small and parking is hard to find
Proximity to locations I had to visit
One of the employee was really rude/annoying when I checked in
The bedding was very comfortable. Location was so convenient to Rogers Centre.
The valet service was terrible. We waited a solid hour for our car after we checked out at 10 a.m.
Right in the Heart of Toronto
Walking across the street you could see CN Tower. Everything was in walking distance. Parking was reasonable and had many options. Safe and clean, overall nice place to stay for a reasonable price.
Location is downtown. Easy yo get anywhere.
Very small room. Smallest room that I've been in.
Great location for walking to attractions
Location Restaurant on sight has good reasonably priced breakfast Hardwood floors in rooms
Rooms are very small but clean
I liked that it was close to harbourfront, and many nice restaurants on King St.
We were told we had an upgrade to a king bed but it was a queen. The view was awful, couldn't tell if it was sunny out.The room and bathroom were both way too small! The fan could not be set to stay on.Way too expensive!Would never recommend this hotel!!!
Lots went wrong
Rooms were pretty clean Staff was friendly
No gym (just a deal of paying the next-door full-sized gym $10/workout) No desk or chair in the room They didn't find my reservation when I arrived, took 5-10 minutes to figure it out. Random $23 charge on my credit card at 2am during my stay On my second day, my card key didn't work and they said apparently I checked out that morning...I definitely did not
Convenient and cost effective
Good location Reasonable rates
Single bed option had small rooms
Location was perfect
Small room + small bathroom + no WI-FI
Very small room, didnt even have a closet or anywhere to hang clothes. Great location
Very tiny rooms
Great location! Good value for the money. Clean room.
Wifi is not free. It took over 20 minutes to drop off my car with the valet.
Nice hotel for financial district
Clean room. Walk across the road to Royal York for access to path!
Small room. It's hard to find attendant for morning breakfast if you want to order something.
The smell in the room
Birthday trip to a Leafs game
The room was nice, large enough for us to not feel cramped
There seemed to be a lot of light switches that did the same thing. Also it was a pain to print off tickets we needed. All things were minor details though.
So great to be right downtown and at such a good p
All of the staff were so friendly. And I mean ALL.
It was close to all of the sporting facilities and train station
Rooms very small, but very comfortable
Its good hotel and confortable
Affordable price comes with a cost : old rooms
The location. It is at the heart of the city.
The hotel is quite old and needs lots of upgrades. The rooms are badly designed - no windows - feels very suffocating and tiny. It wasn't very clean.
Great location. Right downtown and very close to ACC.
great value
incredibly noisy, people partying and doing drugs on my floor through the night which I could smell into my room
I liked the boutique hotel quality of it. The restaurant was very good for breakfast at a reasonable price.
I didn't like the parking, it was adequate but off site and in the advertising it sounded like it was on site.

I liked that it was near Toronto's Union station, just a few minutes away. The room was clean and even though it was small it had everything, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
It would have been nice if it could be just a little less expensive.
Mediocre
Great proximity to train station. Located in the heart of downtown. Clean facility.Walking distance to restaurants, airport shuttle pick/drop off, subway and other fun activities.
For an executive room it was very small and tight, made me wonder what the non-executive rooms looked liked. My booking was mixed-up. Hotel blamed Kayak, said "sometimes 3rd party sites advertise differently from reality"; even though i had called the hotel 2 weeks ahead to confirm my booking and everything was accurate at that point. Guy at the front desk was very rude and entitled. I have received way better service and room quality in other hotels for a fraction of the cost.
My colleague's room had bed bugs!
Proximity to our downtown office.
BED BUGS!
Little charges add up
Clean
Staff was not helpful. We were visiting from out of the country and had multiple questions about Niagara Falls, places to eat, entertainment, etc and the staff could not give helpful answers. Every little thing was a charge (internet, local calls) which add up. The red binder of "information" in the room was incredibly outdated. Paid extra for the Internet, and we couldn't get a steady connection. Overall, staff was rude and incompetent. That really ruins a hotel stay for me.
Hotel was close to everything.
Staff were not friendly. They were not accomodating. I realize the weekend my boyfriend and I stayed was a busy one. However, after checking in multiple times about checking in early, we were treated like we were asking too much. Our room was two single beds that my boyfriend did not fit on. When asked to change rooms the front desk announced this would be too difficult. This may be the case however, I was not impressed and would not stay here again. We made a weekend away the best we could and we did have a great time. The strathcona hotel was just a minor set back in our getaway.
parking was impossible .a small underground next door to enter but the 2 exits are on streets 1/2 and 1 block away. you have to drag your bags out of parkade and the around the block.Staff never told us that.No street parking anywhere close to anything.
Bad for a small budget
They charge for wifi and breakfast and the rooms are tiny. Not a good hotel if you're on a budget, either.
Don't expect it
It was well kept and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful anytime it was needed. Got it because of great location to ACC and downtown areas.
Small beds. The rooms were very small. Bathroom ceilings weren't done properly and plaster was coming undone after a short shower. WiFi has a daily rate per device...it's 2015. Elevators broke down numerous times and did not seem to circulate air well as they were always stuffy. I took stairs every time after night 1. Other reviews were spot on or simply 4 foot tall. Only got for location.
Great location. Very clean and neat. Personable staff.
Very clean. Great location.
Had to pay for wifi. Booked 2 double beds & got room with 1 queen. Small rooms.
Lots of random renovations
Cheap
Random renovations everywhere in which some looked poorly done. Bad paint smell everywhere.
The location was excellent. The beds were comfortable. The hotel and rooms were clean. The staff was friendly.
wont stay again..
Great location. It's right downtown and is within walking distance of everything. Staff was polite enough.
Walls are paper thin. You hear everything. They charge WiFi per device, not per room. Rooms are very small. No Windows to see out into the city. Have to park at least a block away. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable.
Location, location, location. So close to Rogers Center, Union Station, Hockey Hall of Fame and more. Room was nicely decorated, hard wood floors are a plus, Room has everything we needed, working A/C, LCD panel TV, good shower. Good price found via Kayak,
I haven't slept in a single bed since I was a kid. While the bed size never bothered my sleep it was small. Wife slept in the other single bed! View of the building across was not great. Elevators seemed to be only working one at a time and slow no matter what.
