I utilize Mammoth’s Motel 6 every season at least once. I would probably never stay at a Motel 6 in any other city, but in Mammoth, where I’m happy to sleep on the ground or in my car, any lodging is enjoyable since it’s such an awesome town. Don’t expect amenities, it’s a basic experience. Great desk staff usually, and clean, hygienic conditions. Rooms are bare bones and small. It’s why the price is lower than the other places.

Pros:The Motel 6 is a dependable place to stay in Mammoth. The renovation is appreciated. A nice place to stay with a friends staff.
Cons:This is a very minor issue, but the heater was cranked up to maximum when we walkers into the room. It was insanely hot.

Pros:It's a great place to park your stuff and sleep. I didn't bring my dog this time, but they allow dogs. The rooms are nice and clean. Spare, but nicely designed. Staff was friendly and efficient. This was my second time staying there and it probably won't be the last, as it's a great value compared to everything else in town. The location is also good for skiers as it's close to the mountain and two shuttle stops.
Cons:There was no coffeemaker, no tissue, no little shampoos, and no hairdryer. They give you a couple of measly bars of soap and that's it. Not having a coffee maker is a major problem when you're there in the winter to ski and can't make a hot drink in your room.

Cons:Not enough parking in front of my room. People with motorcycles are hogging up one space each! I was forced to park on the other side of the building away from my car. It was a hassle to load and unload luggage. Parking should be assigned with a parking pass that shows your room number or something... No shampoo provided in the bathroom! For $116 a night plus taxes, a sample size bottle should be included. Nearly every motel I've stayed at provides it. I had to wash my hair with barsoap. Not happy about that. TV remote had dead batteries in it... Toilet seat would not stay up on its own. It kept slamming down on its own. The toilet was also nasty under the seat and in the hinge area. They never cleaned under it! Mattress was too stiff to sleep well on. I had a sore back for 2 days. The ceilings creak when people upstairs are walking at night. Very annoying. Wifi was "free" but only for 24 hours eventhough I was staying for 2 nights... it was also very slow!
