Pros: Everything from the bellboy to the cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and of highest quality and location was great, a lot of things to do if you don't mind walking. Historical sites are not close need to take a cab but not very far normally costing about 20-25TL.

Pros: Built as the hotel for first class passengers at the end of the line on the Orient Express, this grand hotel oozes history and elegance. I had a corner room, which was massive and tastefully appointed. The marble bathroom was impressive. The staff is professional and attentive. I’ve wanted to stay at the Pera Palace for a while and it was worth every penny!
Cons: Nothing. There is nothing not to love about this hotel!

Pros: We arrived early before check in time, they asked us if we had breakfast we didn’t so they offered us to have breakfast by the time they get our room ready so we could do an early check in. Everything was amazing. Their customer service is fantastic!

Pros: It's very well-located, if you have to be near Taksim this is the best place. It's close enough to the meydan and to the Metro and buses, but not so close to Istiklal where all of the noise and crowds are. The rooms are nice and comfortable.
Cons: The Wifi was very slow and kept going in and out, if you're paying $140 for a room you shouldn't have to deal with something even $28/night hotels in Istanbul get right.

Pros: Great hotel for smokers because everyone smokes so much that the wallpaper and air smell like cigarettes! You can smoke cigars on the restaurant patio even though the smoke blows right into the restaurant - a fantastic smell when you're trying to enjoy your meal.
Cons: We stayed at Tunel for 5 nights. Our room was fine for 4 nights w dodgy wifi but then for the last night, they moved us to a disgusting and tiny box of a room where the wifi did not work. The room was dark because 2 of the main light bulbs were out. The floor was severely scratched up, wallpaper peeled, plastic headboard deteriorated onto our faces while we slept! It stank like cigarette smoke. The ceiling in the shower was mouldy and dropped wet chunks on us while we were showering. They skimped on towels. The blinds fell down with a loud thud when we opened the window. When I shared these issues with the front desk she offered a one-time free £3 breakfast. I told her I wanted a new room and she said she had none. I looked online and found that they had THREE available rooms. I asked her why she was being dishonest with me and she said it was because she could get more from a client who booked online.

Pros: The hotel is one of the nicest I’ve stayed in around the world. It has a nice relaxed ambiance about it. Staff are mostly polite and friendly. The location is convenient in a nice neighborhood. Reception area is big and provides comfort that once you step foot inside you can feel it’s a safe haven in the very busy Istanbul. It hosts several shops and a cafe. Rooms are lovely, not small. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom was big, clean and had basic toiletries. I would definitely stay at the Wyndham Old City Istanbul again in the future.
Cons: Upon approaching the reception we were informed that their was a problem with our booking because it didn’t show on the hotel’s system. They suggested we contact Kayak or hotels.com to solve our problem. They didn’t offer to help us by contacting them themselves although we showed them the confirmation we had several times. To be fair, once we sorted out the issue with the reservation, they upgraded our room and offered a discount on breakfast. One of the chairs in the room had many stains on it. It looked clean but with hard-to-remove-stains. I think it’s beneath the Wyndham station to keep a stained chair in a guest’s room. The carpet had few stains as well.
