Cons (-) The whole effort was handled in an unprofessional effort
Pros (+) Loved the breakfast. That is a primary motivator for me at any Embassy Suites. The staff was great. You really can't beat the location and the access to the Metro. Fly or drive to DC and access to anything is easy.
Cons (-) The manager's reception in the evening was meager as far as food was concerned. I have seen much better at other Embassy Suites. The parking rates were outrageous. You pay parking rates that are the equivalent of buying your car a room at other hotel chains.
Pros (+) Arrived by train at 915AM on check in day, expecting to leave bags and check in later, what a pleasant surprise to find out a room was ready and we could move in. Pros (+) This hotel does a wonderful free Breakfast with made to order food and a very efficient staff. The manager receptions at night are also done very well. Good location for access to Old Town Alexandria and the DC Metro.
Cons (-) The property charges $28 per night for parking in the facility underneath the hotel. There really is no other available parking for this hotel. The parking is dangerous and has overally small spaces in between large concrete pillars. Not only are you paying too much but the parking is impossible. Too many handicapped rooms.
