Cons (-) Very uncomfortable bed on the double room, super noisy! Don't expect to sleep much, the stairs are super noisy too and from 6am you can hear people already walking. Every time someone opens and close a door you will hear it too.

For those traveling on a tighter budget who still want to be in the heart of downtown Vancouver, St. Clair Vancouver Hotel – Hostel is the perfect choice of accommodation. Its location puts guests close to everything they’ll likely want to see and do, as well as gives them easy access to public transportation options.
There are 35 rooms at the hostel that are split between shared and private accommodations. Shared rooms are designated all male or all female. Guests will have their own sinks in the rooms but showers and toilets will be in a shared space. Hairdryers are available upon request. There is free WiFi throughout the property. Guests can jump on a bus or a train and get anywhere in the city with ease, as well.

Pros (+) Great location and staff. Was given good directions on how to get into the hostel after closing hours and details on the parking in the area. The room had all we needed (bunk with a double and single bed for 3 people), the mattresses were comfortable and the sheets were clean. Had a sink in the room which was convenient. Got to see a real locksmith do work on the doorknob of my unit.
Cons (-) The doorknob lock (the one where you turn the nub from the inside) needed a different key than the deadbolt, which was unavailable. Luckily we only tried using the doorknob lock the morning after we arrived, or else we would have gotten locked out of our room all night, but were still locked out for a couple hours until the staff came back during business hours.
