Overview

On Corso Umberto I in the old centre of Modica, the Modica Inn Centro, BW Premier Collection, Modica, Italy, fills a former roadside motel reborn as a smart four-star, with an elegant lounge and a large free car park. With the car left behind, the town is easy to explore on foot from the door. The comfortable, modern rooms and an elegant lounge make a central base for south-eastern Sicily. A large free car park makes the chocolate shops and old churches of the centre easy to reach on foot. Modica tumbles down a gorge in tiers of golden-stone churches and palaces, famous for Modica chocolate, made using an ancient recipe introduced during Spanish rule, while the Baroque Cathedral of San Giorgio and Cathedral of San Pietro watch over the town. The golden Val di Noto towns of Ragusa, Scicli and Noto rise close by, and the beaches and reserves of the south coast lie a short drive away. Dry-stone walls and carob trees cross the surrounding hills. CIR code: 19088006A225583, CIN code: IT088006A17SJ5FDAT
