Pros (+) The staff at Mccarren were fantastic. Check in was fast and efficient even though I was checking in at 2am. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect and value for money is great compared to other hotels in the area.
Cons (-) The lighting is a little stark but this is a minor thing...very minor!

Pros (+) Very comfortable bed, and very courteous staff.
Cons (-) The maintenance of the facility was lacking. Our shower knob was broken, and the hand held shower head wouldn't work, despite asking for service. The frosting on the bathroom window was peeling, as was some of the wall paper. We also found a random metal shelf above our fridge?

Pros (+) The bed was nice and the room was clean
Cons (-) Very underwhelmed. For the price it simple doesn't even compete to other New York hotels. The room was fine but for 400 a night I'm not paying for fine.

Pros (+) I liked the location for being in Williamsburg. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful; so, thanks to Dayana, Justin, Jessica, Martin and James.. for that. The rooms were clean and well kept, if a bit small. But, the size is just something that you have to deal with in the City..
Cons (-) There were just a couple of things that could improve.. we liked our breakfast in the room, but after the first day, we didn't get the door hanger to request the next day's breakfast.. bummer. Also, I know it was the holidays, but the restaurant and bar seemed to keep pretty random hours.. hard to plan.
