Pros: We were traveling with our adult daughter when we stayed at Kien. Her bed was in a different section of the apt. which afforded the maximum privacy for 3 adult family members in a one room studio. Although the kitchen and bathroom were compact, they were more than adequate for our needs. We found the apt.well stocked, including umbrellas and maps. But best of all were the little attention to details provided by our host, Martin. The day of our arrival, there were some cold drinks and beer in the frig Each day when Martin restocked our breakfast items, he added special goodies for us based on what he had noticed we enjoyed such delicious pastries and sweets. One evening we found a bottle of wine. Bonus - Martin speaks English fluently.

Pros: Stayed at the Kien b&b for 3 nights during June 10, Martin the owner was there upon arrival and was very helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a self contained studio in a good location in Amsterdam then Kein is perfect. It's within easy walking distance of the musuem quarter and has plenty of good bars and restaurants close by. The tram stop is around 5mins walk away which takes you the Dam Square area of the city. We stayed in the basemenet apartment which meant we has access to a pleasent little garden. Would highly recommend.

Pros: What a find! This studio apartment is in a great location on a very quiet street near the Museumplein and many great restaurants and shops. The studio apartment is very well furnished and is stocked with everything for a great breakfast and a great stay. Martin, the host lives upstairs and is always willing to offer advice about where to eat, what to see, how to rent bikes and interesting cultural items. We loved staying at this place and would highly recommend it to others.

Pros: Kien B & B was outstanding. The studio was large, beautifully decorated and tranquil. Yet it was walking distance to all sights and an excellent value. It was wonderful to be able to use the refrigerator and stovetop. Mary Kien gave great information on restaurants and airport transfer. We hope to visit again soon.

Pros: Three adults, including myself, stayed here a day before and after a cruise. The hotel was a great price and offered three single beds and a very large bathroom. Being from the U.S. with limited public transportation where I live, I did not realize that the tram is different than the train. We thought we could take the tram to and from the airport and port, but you need to take a taxi, so that was a little disappointing. The tram is an excellent way to get downtown, though. You pay right on the tram, 7.50 Euros for 24 hours. The staff was extremely helpful in giving directions regarding navigating the city and helping answer a variety of questions. They even ordered taxi pick up for us.

Pros: Other than the location, this place really was just so-so. Most Marriott Courtyards are cleaner, more comfortable, and have much better service. Pros: I spent two nights at the NH Barbizon and I only have positive things to say. It was a group of 5 friends and we couldnt be happier with our stay. The hotel in itself is beautifully decorated. The location is excellent across from Amsterdam Central and all the trolleys, but the best part of the hotel was the staff. Daniel helped my friends and I not only with our luggage, but with advice on getting around the city, recommendations for restaurants, and sightseeing. Overall great experience, and upon my return to Amsterdam I will definitely stay here and hope to get assistance from Daniel!

Pros: The first three nights I stayed the internet did not function in my room, only in the lobby. I inquired many times but to no avail. I decided to give the hotel one more chance as i had to extend my stay and I was given a wonderful room with a great view, and working internet! Not sure it was an upgrade price wise, but it was indeed comfortable and made me very happy to know my best interest as a customer was being regarded. The bathrooms in both rooms I had were really great, and the staff is very friendly. Lastly next door is a big gym with a pool, for 20 euro a day you can do your workout there. It was supposed to be a deal, but actually the price is 20 euro regardless of whether or not u are a guest in the hotel.
