Pros: "The service"
Cons: "The flight was 1.5 hours late and when we were supposed to board I was told that the plan hadn't even left Manila. This was at 9PM at night. There was no notice given so we arrived at the airport on time only to wait for almost 2 hours. PAL has a monopoly on the route and charges almost $100 for a 45 minute flight. I understand the pricing but not notifying passengers when a flight is going to be that late simply reflects a lack of concern on the part of PAL."

Cons: "More often than not, Philippine Airlines has been our airline of choice because we found their rates to be fair and flights direct and easy. Despite the fact that the PAL terminal was pretty poor, and the food on board was never really decent, we remained loyal to PAL for quite a few years. On our way back to Melbourne from Manila on June 17, Saturday, Colin, Hendrix and I were awaiting boarding at gate 10 for flight PR 209. Having flown with PAL from Melbourne to Manila (as well as with another airline from Manila to Manchester and back), we understood that the usual procedure was to allow passengers with infants to board first. Due to the lack of order (there were no clear queues in sight), Colin decided to ask 3 different PAL personnel if there was, indeed, a priority queue for people travelling with infants. ALL THREE PERSONNEL ASSURED US THAT THEY WERE NOT YET BOARDING AND THAT WE WOULD BE CALLED UPON PRIOR TO THEM LETTING ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANE. 2 minutes later, a PAL personnel appears with signage that reads certain row numbers and begins to call out to ALL PASSENGERS FOR BOARDING. Colin swiftly rushes to the front (me and baby in tow) and demands an explanation as to why we were told one thing but are watching them act upon something completely different. I wish I was joking when I tell you that the personnel just stared blankly at us and then carried on checking boarding passes. No apologies, no explanation offered. As soon as we boarded, Colin turned to the first flight steward he saw and asked for a complaint form and told this could ONLY be done online, to which Colin requested we be given the email/web address upon take off. The seats assigned to us were on the right most side of the aircraft, a window and a middle seat. As Colin was placing our bags in the overhead compartment, the steward called to Colin from across the aisle (past the 3 seats in the middle of the plane) to introduce the purser, Jolly Bello. Please note this was happening while people were also trying to get past and get to their seats -and Mr. bello called out across the aisle, "I heard you have a complaint??" to which Colin, baffled, replied "yes do you want to come over here so we aren’t shouting over these people?". Colin yet again told this purser what the complaint was about and was asked (verbatim) "so would you like to make a complaint against THEM?" Would the correct protocol not be to 1. Apologise for any confusion, miscommunication or poor service, 2. Take some responsibility and acknowledge the complaint and 3. Maybe come approach us AFTER TAKE OFF and not while everyone is trying to board the plane? We are no longer choosing Philippine Airlines."
Pros: "I like that the plane was not very full and I had no seatmate beside me. The staff were attentive to the needs of the passengers."
Cons: "There was nothing I didn't like."
Cons: "delayed, unsatisfying service"
Pros: "Crew service"
Cons: "No announcement for boarding and flight delayed."
Pros: "the crew and food were both good."
Cons: "too much much delay , the were delay at every stop over"
Pros: "The lemon butter fish was one of the better airplane meals I've ever had. Boarding was quick and smooth. Taiwanese people take the longest of any nationality to board a plane (they have a series of "pre-seating" maneuvers which cause huge backups). Despite this, the flight attendants politely humored them and were not pushy. Had this happened in the US, the flight attendants would have told them to sit down, get out of the way, and do their aisle stretching exercises and random meanders around the plane AFTER all passengers had been seated!"
Cons: "The plane was old and dirty. The flight attendants seemed more interested in gossiping with each other than greeting passengers (though one or two were very good and professional). Only one flight attendant could speak Chinese. This was not a problem for me, though it was for some of the Taiwanese tourists."
Pros: "On our return flight from Narita to Manila there was this family with 3 little kids and seating directly in front of us , the little girl cried the entire flight of 4 hours every 10 seconds and the mom didn't do anything to calm her , even wearing a headset I can hear the girl crying. The crew should have done something to seat them at the end but they were seated in the middle. Was so annoyed ! Flight attendant were slow taking our empty food tray. 1/2 hour later or more before they finally take it. No addt'l crew to give drinks after the meal."
Cons: "To small and old seats. I am so tiny already but I can bump my elbow to next person seating. No leg room."
Pros: "Their website would not let us manage our booking, ie. change seats or pay for additional luggage. Thus incurring larger fees at airport. Customer Service at airport was worthless and condescending at best!"
Pros: "Quickest flight available"
Cons: "Philippine Airlines food is bland and very soggy"
Pros: "Smooth flight."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for hours!! It was so frustrating!"
